Pentewan Beach is a wonderful south-east facing sandy beach set between two headlands, making it both safe and sheltered. A disused quay stands at the north end of the beach, which at low tide stretches to around half a mile. The beach is privately owned and backed by a caravan park. However, visitors can access the beach either via Pentewan village or from the car park by the caravan site.
The sea is clean and is ideal for swimmers, and all types of watersports and sailing. There is a launching facility during the main season (jet skis excluded) from the slipway for guests staying at the caravan site. There is a climbing frame and swings on the beach for children.
The Driftwood Bistro and Bar was launched in 2011 and is situated right on the beach. It serves everything from coffee and cake to delicious fresh meals, with wine or beer.
