A nice break away

We enjoyed our week near Falmouth. Having use of the pool and hot tub was great at the end of each day. The house was spacious and comfortable and my children loved the freedom of the play area and games room.

Great property

Great place to stay a little bit away from things no pub in walking distance or shops nice pool etc only wifi in games room which everybody we spoke to there thought that was strange phone signal poor as was trying to get 4g had a problem with one toilet and bedroom door handle but darren came round and sorted it straight away the property has 3 toilets so was not a problem would stay there again very quiet if you want to get away from it all this is a nice place to go

From the Owner:
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately we are in one of Cornwall's many black spots and are classed as a rural location and as strange as it may sound broadband is not seen as a priority to providers in this area. We are in talks with BT and looking into this. Other than that we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us.

Comfortable spacious property with lovely grounds and pool.

Trelawny is a 4-bedroomed cottage on a private complex. There is a lot of living space for the 8 people it supplies, and a well-appointed kitchen. 2 of the bedrooms are ensuite. The pool and trampline/play-area are generally well maintained and there is plenty of parking. There isn't much phone reception but the games room (containing pool table, table-football and table-tennis, plus library of books, games and DVDs) has free wifi and it was very pleasant for the kids (and adults!) to slope off at the end of the day to enjoy it. The gardens are nicely kept and becoming established, and the complex is just a mile away from the Argal reservoir with it's facilities and 2 mile round track, which I think the management could make more of. The property does need a little bit of maintenance (especially the radiators upstairs) but the beds and sofas were very comfortable and there was a lot of storage. Washing machine and dishwasher worked well, and there is a full size fridge-freezer, with oven, microwave and 4-plate gas hob. There were a lot of plates and cutlery, which I find is often lacking in large properties and made the kitchen arrangements much easier! Management didn't reply to my texts and I had to work a bit to find them, but once I did they were very receptive to my needs, including sorting a broken coffee machine and changing the bed for our extra guest on the day he arrived. All in all a very lovely place which I would definitely come back to. It would also work brilliantly for a large family group requiring several cottages, as they mainly focus on the same courtyard and come in a variety of sizes.

very creaky floorboards, poor sleep for guests staying downstairs.

Not the best experience we've had, firstly received an email the night before our weeks stay to say the Hot tub had a leak and would be out of action until mended, this ended up being out of action until Wednesday. This was very disappointing as its was my mums birthday on the Sunday and the reason we booked this place was because of the indoor hot tub & the plan was to have a BBQ & chill out on the Sunday after the long drive the day before. The Thursday before we arrived I called to double check there was a BBQ at the site, as the pictures on booking site show there is but after previous experience I thought would not assume so I called the booking company to check, I was told yes there is a BBQ but must provide own coal, however when we got there after buying all the BBQ good and 2 bags of coal there was no BBQ anywhere so now no hot tub and no BBQ so my mums birthday was just a real let down. We called the site manager and we we're told that there was no bbq & we shouldn't have been told there was, also making the pictures on the website misleading, he did however bring us a Make your own Ikea bbq & 2 disposable bbq also in the kitchen was a drawer with bbq tools in!!'. The kitchen is equipped with only the very basics, no oven gloves, garlic press or serving dishes. The house was ok but the upstairs floor boards are so creaky it made it impossible to get much sleep if you we're staying in the downstairs bedroom. The most disappointing thing was the afternoon of the second from last day we got back wet & cold from a day out walking about to have showers to warm up to find no hot water at all and no heating + the gas hob would not work. After finding the site manager we found out the main gas tanks we're empty so the whole place had no gas and at 4pm on Friday afternoon we weren't going to get any. So the last two days we had no hot water to shower or wash and with no hob working to dinner was a total disaster. My elderly parents left at 4am cold & Hungry and really feed up. There we've other issues but I'm just losing the will now. It's taken me 2 weeks to calm down before I could write this review, the whole thing was very disappointing.

A wonderful stay!

We had a fabulous holiday in this well set out property. The swimming pool, jacuzzi & hot tub were a big bonus with all the family. We were fortunate enough to have excellent weather and were able to sit out every evening. The only 'niggle' I had is that the only seating, outside in the courtyard, was quite an old & uncomfortable circular picnic table that sat 8. We were 8 adults, which proved very cosy & too hot on most evenings. I think the outside seating would benefit from a rethink. I would definitely recommend this property.

From the Owner:
Thank you Janice for taking the time to review Trelawny. We are so glad you had an enjoyable stay and will hopefully welcome you back again in the future. I will pass your comments about the bench onto the onsite Manager.

home from home

excellent property within easy reach of Falmouth, great for families, micro wave and fridge freezer showing their age but a quick chat to Darren the caretaker and problem rectified with new items being ordered, Darren was always available to assist with anything, offering to move furniture around to accommodate our Son who is a wheelchair user.Great property in this respect as its all on one level. We have been several times before and will certainly be booking again for next year

From the Owner:

An excellent place to stay with your family

our stay at the Trelawny was an excellent one. The facilities provided were very good and we enjoyed the large pool, spa and sauna. The manager was very polite, helpful and supportive. Location of the cottage is also good as we were able to visit all the attractions in short distance. We strongly recomment this place to everyone who want a calm, quite and close to nature place in cornwall.

From the Owner:
Dear Sangeeth, Thanks for taking the time to review one of our properties. We are really glad you had an enjoyable stay and look forward to welcoming you back again one day. Kind Regards
