Property Details
These traditional barn conversions offer a warm welcome: a short drive away from the main Newquay road leads you to the barns which have far reaching views of Cornish countryside. The barns sit in a generous plot of land, with excellent leisure facilities for you to enjoy, including a heated swimming pool, a gas BBQ and seating area (open beginning of April to end of September), large enclosed picnic area with children’s play area and pond with fish. Please note that the swimming pool is all the same depth, it does not have a shallow end.
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with built-in appliances, a microwave, washing machine and fridge/freezer. There is a clothes horse and washing line. The lounge has flat screen TV with free view and a DVD player.
The front door of Towan cottage leads into the kitchen. An archway leads you into the living / dining room followed by a step up into a separate double bedroom (with 4'6" bed) with en-suite shower room. The staircase in the living room takes you up to a large double room (with king size bed) with its own en-suite shower room. A z-bed can be provided for an additional guest at no extra charge.

Lovely cottage
This is the second year we have stayed and will be booking for next year. Think discount should be given to returning customers as the overall cost doubles in the school holiday anyway. If you can offer any sort of discount for next year we would be truly grateful Many thanks Clare
From the Owner:
Hi Clare,
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and can't wait to welcome you back in 2019.
All the best

Lovely Cottage with communal pool and hot tub
Great place to stay nicely located between Newquay and Perranporth. Has use of communal pool and hot tub shared with 3 other cottages and 5 yurts. We've stayed in 3 of the 4 cottages now and they are all comfortable barn conversions, ideal as a base for cornwall trips. The pool is huge positive for kids who love dipping early mornings late nights and any time in between. Pool and tub Can become over crowded and a bit dirty if all users aren't careful with their hygiene and the notices require. It's always difficult to reprimand other children when they're allowed to ignore the rules. That said the tub was cleaned regularly so just cleaning it was great...

Thank you for taking the time to review, we are glad you had a nice stay again regardless of others. We hope to welcome you back again one day.

Good location for North Cornwall
An enjoyable stay. Towan Cottage was in a location which suited us & the field was ideal for exercising the dog first thing in the morning. The pool was a bonus. Downside would be the surroundings could do with a good clean up & the outside bins in particular were very unpleasant. Andy, one of the onsite owners was very helpful particularly when one of our towels went missing off the washing line. A little more info inside the cottage suggesting places to visit & eat out would also be useful.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings
Especially liked how secure the property was for our 2 dogs and to have the field to walk them in each morning was so convenient. It was a lovely, a very well equipped cottage with a homely feel. The added bonus of the swimming pool and hot tub was great. Andy, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. We will certainly look to return to Town Cottage on another visit to Cornwall.

A peaceful retreat
Lovely cottage in a great setting. Well equipped and very comfortable. Lovely to have pool and jacuzzi virtually on doorstep. Very good for dogs too so everyone happy. Wifi not very effective and busy road makes walking to shop and pub difficult. Lovely surprise to be able to get fresh laid hen and duck eggs and superb homemade marmalade on site. Would definitely recommend.

Stay at Towan Cottage
We had a great week in Cornwall. The cottage being dog friendly and the heated pool at Towan Cottage was the main reason we booked and did not disappoint our two children who enjoyed it even on rainy days, our dog was also very happy to come with us! The cottage was clean and comfortable despite an initial doggy smell when we arrived,as we have a dog of our own so appreciate this is a dog friendly cottage and wet dogs returning from the beach each day take their toll on furnishings, once aired and windows left open it was fine but do feel that maybe the vacuum filters could do with a change or the carpets a clean at the end of the season. The bread bin was not clean but I am being very pickey as the rest of the cottage was fairly spotless. Very pleased with the cleanliness of bedding, towels and bathrooms, eco friendly toilet cleaner would have been useful. Being a gardener, I did notice the pots for plants outside were empty which would have been a nice touch as per the advertising photos? The cottage is in a fantastic position for short drives to the beach, however we could not walk anywhere without the car as the busy road nearby is far too dangerous to tackle so people also really do need to keep their dogs under control and watch young children, we did have a stray dog visit from the nearby yurts and I was concerned it could escape to the road. Would also have been helpful to have some info within the cottage regarding which beaches were within easy reach/quieter/remote etc, having said this we did bump into the owner on the first day who gave excellent advice, was friendly and helpful. None of the above are meant to be criticisms just some minor improvements /observations on how to make this complex even better. We would return and would recommend to others, thank you S McKinney

Ideal location Towyn cottage everything we could have wanted to enjoy a stress free holiday.
Clean, comfortable, with everything provided for our needs. Unlike many places I have stayed the showers actually work. The whole cottage has been well renovated. The pool is an added bonus and the water was warm. Suitable for family holidays with plenty of space outdoors. Dog friendly was another bonus. I would strongly recommend it for a family holiday.

A chilled week with the dogs
Towan Cottage is part of a number of cottages resulting from a barn conversion, spacious, comfortable and well placed for access to Perranporth Beach which was our main aim. The weather was appalling, very windy all week (40mph) and wet each day though we didn't expect to have glorious sunshine at this time of year. Apart from one draughty door the cottage was very cosy, warm and well insulated; the beds were very comfortable and the en suites were very good, big enough, with good water pressure and water temperature though the en suites themselves were unheated. The grassed area outside the barn was great for allowing the dogs out though it did help that the other cottages were unoccupied, so we never felt that we encroached on other people's space. Although we didn't use them, the other facilities of pool, barbecue area and play area for kids seemed to be a wonderful opportunity for families to come and enjoy. The ground was very wet but car access right up to the gate with a reasonably hard surface was helpful though the adjacent field with yurts, which was an area where the dogs could be walked, seemed a bit too muddy for us to use. Though we ate out during the day, we cooked our evening meals in the cottage and found everything we needed for this. We didn't use the washing machine but a useful addition for some families. Certain other things might have been useful, oven gloves, sharpened knives, wifi that worked, attention to the lighting in both kitchen and lounge but overall nothing detracted from the enjoyment of our stay and we would happily return in the future.

A very pleasant week
We had a comfortable and relaxing stay at Towan cottage which is in a very peaceful location. The one drawback was being unable to walk into the local village due to the narrow and often busy road which did not have footpaths all the way.
From the Owner:
Thank you for taking the time to review Towan cottage, we are pleased that overall you had an enjoyable stay.

Towan
Overall we had an enjoyable stay at Towan Cottage. Our only concern was the upstairs shower base filled with water because it did not seem to drain away fast enough. I was also surprised that there was no Hairdryer.
From the Owner:
Thank you for bringing the blocked shower to our attention, it's s shame we didn't know whilst you were there as we could have fixed it there and then.
With regards to the hairdryers we don't advertise as having them but it is something we are looking into.
