Tucked away on a quiet lane only a few steps from the harbour in St Mawes, The Workshop is a delightfully presented family holiday home, with restricted views out across the bay from the living room and mezzanine over the rooftops of houses in front. It is right in the heart of St Mawes and perfectly positioned for exploring the village and the area. The ferries to Falmouth, Place Manor, Trelissick Gardens & Truro depart from the quay which is just a few steps from your front door. St Mawes is perfect for just leaving the car and exploring by foot.

This reverse level converted timber clad building has been cleverly designed and is presented in excellent order. The main living space is open plan with a fully fitted kitchen, comfortable sofas and a dining area. It is an ideal cottage for a larger family with 3 bedrooms on the ground floor. It would also be great for a couple looking for a bit more space in the middle of St Mawes. There is a little patio garden just in front of the property which gets sun for most of the day.

First Floor: Living area with open plan kitchen and dining area.
Ground Floor: Double bedroom with 5' 6” bed and en suite shower room & WC, twin bedroom with zip and link beds comprising either two single beds or a 5' double (normally set up as twin, please indicate on booking if you would like it set up as a double), and a single bedroom with a narrow, full length single bed suitable for adults. Bathroom has bath with shower attachment & WC.
Mezzanine: Sitting area with TV and DVD - an ideal retreat for older children.
Exterior: There is a small private enclosed patio garden area with some outside furniture.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.

St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round.

October half-term 2017

Our family loved being at The Workshop - convenient for the pub, bakery, shops and wonderful walks around the Roseland peninsula. Disappointed that the kayak man had closed for the winter even though the weather was mild and dry and still only half-term school holidays?! (But that's not Cornwall Cottages or The Workshop's fault!) Many thanks, we'll be back soon!

Great place

Situated right in the heart of St Mawes this is a lovely property. The upside down configuration works really well with sea views from some upstairs windows, and the living space is bright, spacious and inviting. An attic 'snug' is great for kids although it looks like the owners are planning to turn it into dormer room. Beds were comfy and the whole place is equipped like a home, not a holiday rental. Minor quibbles - the washing machine was broken during our stay (awaiting parts) and we couldn't stop the en suite shower dripping which meant I needed a wee about 15 times a night, but we loved the place and would go back in a heartbeat.

A lovely house, very well equiped and close to shops and car park.

We found the house very easy to live in and the position good with a view to the harbour. We would definitely come again. The only problem was the lock to the Bathroom which needs the screw tightening, my daughter got locked in.

Wonderful festive stay in St Mawes

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Workshop in St Mawes where we enjoyed two weeks of movie watching, dog walking and pub hopping! The Workshop is a lovely cottage that offered all that we'd hoped for; in fact we both commented that it is better than we'd expected. That said, a little nod to Christmas would have been appreciated; the odd bauble or string of fairy lights.... ;) We took our two english pointers and the cottage was perfect for them too; plenty of room and access to the garden. We would happily return to stay again!

Seaside fun in St Mawes

With its pretty cottage style furnishings, just five minutes from the harbour side, the Workshop made a great base for our stay on the Roseland. The open plan living room /kitchen is well equipped and a comfortable size. The bedrooms are downstairs, and though compact, are also comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved being close to St Mawes' pubs and restaurants, and had some great trips, especially on the Place Ferry to walk along the coast to the lighthouse at St Anthony's Head. The tour of St Mawes castle is also well worth doing, using the audio guides - a bit like a Horrible History read aloud! Public transport is limited, so you need a car to enjoy this beautiful coastline. Thoroughly recommended.

A week in St Mawes

We have stayed in St Mawes on several occasions but not previously at The Workshop. Lovely property, fully equipped with everything you need, comfortable, spacious and light, bright and airy. Good location a short walk from pubs, shops and the beach. Ideal base for exploring the Roseland Peninsula and going to Falmouth via the ferry. We all enjoyed a fabulous half term break, thank you.

Workshop

when we arrived The floor wasn't properly swept upstairs & the mat & carpet were very marked. Also there was a set of cutlery in the dishwasher left over from the previous visitors. There was also a damp smell downstairs.

We apologise, but we have no floor plans of this property yet.
