Holiday Cottage in St Just

Property Details
The Studio has the most dramatic section of the South West coastal path on its doorstep, it is an easy drive to the ancient town of Penzance, the artists favourite of St. Ives, spiritual St. Michael's Mount or of course the wealth of beautiful sandy beaches, coves and headlands. Inside, the apartment is well equipped and tastefully decorated, it is open plan with a screen to separate out the bedroom and a modern shower room.
Cape Cornwall Golf Club is 50m away and with this are excellent bar and dining facilities.

Exterior: The apartment has a small grass area in front of the property with bench seating in front of the magnificent vista. There is also a more secluded and partially decked area with a table and chairs and access to a BBQ.

Short breaks are available during quieter periods.

Property Location
There are many beautiful valleys leading to other coves and beaches in the area, all of which are accessible from the nearby Coastal path.
Cape Cornwall tin mine was operated intermittently between 1838 and 1883 after which time it was closed, the 1864 chimney from the mine has been left as a navigational marker for shipping traffic and stands tall on the top of the Cape. The surrounding National Trust farm land has been converted into an 18 hole golf course with leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool (although this is currently being renovated). There is also a bar and dining room open to non-members. Weekly membership of the Golf and Leisure Club is available for visitors. Both Sennen Cove, with its long sandy surfing beach, and Land's End are within easy reach. St. Ives and the Tate Gallery are a short drive along the coast road through some of Cornwall's best moorland and Heritage tin mining areas. Local shopping facilities are about a mile away at St. Just and the larger resorts of St. Ives and Penzance are within easy driving distance along with many attractions including St Michael’s Mount and The Eden Project

Review
Reviewed on 07/10/2021It was excellent apart from the shower, which was dirty, looked like the tiles had not been cleaned for ages, the grouting was filthy, which let the apartment down, My only criticism, which is nothing to do with the apartment, is that there was no marked footpath to the seating area by the golf course and the steps to the apartment, vehicles would park here which could make access to the apartment very difficult, especially when carrying a suitcase.

Stunning location
Reviewed on 26/08/2021The Studio was the perfect location for our week in Cornwall in August. The view down to Cape Cornwall is stunning - and weather watching from the window is constantly fascinating! The flat itself is well equipped, comfortable, clean and really well thought out. It was a real pleasure to be in it. Nearby St Just is a lovely village with lots of facilities. We definitely hope to return.

Wonderfully relaxing place
Reviewed on 04/11/2020A wonderfully relaxing place to stay with breathtaking views, the apartment is very cosy clean and good cooking facilities, a decent shower/ toilet etc and also has great parking. Some facilities restricted due to covid (communal laundry) but just take extra pants. Felt quite depressed leaving as I don't know when I can come back, have stayed a few times in the past. Such a beautiful area with lots of very scenic walks and the owners are a really lovely couple who I have met before. St Just the nearest small village/town is a mile away with some local shops and Penzance is about a 20 min drive where there is a selection of large supermarkets etc. Looking forward to going back when I can. I was reluctant to post this review as it will no doubt make it harder to get another booking!

A clean and comfortable studio with a fantastic outlook.
Reviewed on 15/07/2019This was our second visit to the studio and we found it just as enjoyable as the first. It has all the home comforts and a fabulous outlook over Cape Cornwall. The South West Coast Path and the Cape Cornwall golf course are on the doorstep and it is only a short walk to all the essentials in St. Just. The bus services in St. Just are very good with the coast route to St. Ives an experience. The studio has no WiFi but there are access points at the Golf club and in St Just.

Amazing views, perfect location
Reviewed on 13/09/2018This is the third time we have stayed in the studio because of its amazing views over cape Cornwall and itA?s right on the coastal footpaths. We love watching the weather come in over the cape. The studio itself is very comfortable with all you need for a weekA?s holiday. This year they had added a new sofa which was very comfy and perfect for curling up on in the evenings and watching a dvd.

Stay in a very cold February
Reviewed on 08/03/2018The Studio is comfortably big enough for 2 and very well equipped. We stayed at the time that there were sub-zero temperatures and snow, and the Studio was warm enough. The owners, Roy and June, lived on site and were very helpful throughout. The only negative point about this property is the parking, which is very tight if you have a long car( e.g. an estate). Luckily there was no one parked next to us, so we could manoeuvre our car out of the space.

Relaxing February
Reviewed on 06/03/2017All you need for a relaxing holiday. Clean, warm, comfy and convenient location. Next time I won't order the sea mist, but then again why would I book a holiday by the coast in February if I didn't want to see the changes in the weather?

Ideal studio for two in a great location.
Reviewed on 06/06/2016The views and location would be hard to better. Good that the basic essentials were supplied as well, which is not always the case. The golf club for wifi connection were very helpful and eating there was very nice as well. Initially we found mobile phone connection very poor in the studio but later realised that the best connectivity occurred when we left phones on the dining table in the right hand corner. Facilities in the outbuildings were good with washing powder etc also provided. Washing cycles were a lot longer than expected. We had a super week and would certainly hope to return soon.

Great for 2 in a wonderful location.
Reviewed on 30/05/2016This studio flat is just right for 2 people, although you could fight over best seating position for the view! Well furnished and equipped. The view over the golf course to Cape Cornwall is perfect. Perfectly located for coastal path walking, however the bus service could be better in tying up so that you don't have to walk both ways. Also good for St Ives, Penzance, Minnack Theatre and much more if you want to ring the changes. Cornwall at its best - quiet and unspoilt.

Beautiful location and accommodation
Reviewed on 31/08/2015We had a wonderful week at the Studio. The views from the property were the highlight, sitting on the sofa and looking out over the sun setting over Cape Cornwall was truly breathtaking. The accommodation itself was comfortable, fresh and contemporary. It had everything we needed in the kitchen to make some great meals using lovely local produce. It was more than big enough for the two of us and we appreciated the dishwasher in the apartment and the washing machine just opposite, great extras! We would definitely return.

Beautiful cottage with incredible views.
Reviewed on 27/07/2015The cottage is in a great location with stunning views available from the window. Great customer service and a nice stay. Parking space is a touch tight since it's in the nearside corner, but no real issues. The cottage itself was in good condition and it was clean. Would recommend to anyone considering a remote stay surrounded by great views with some peace and quiet!

So good we want to live here!
Reviewed on 30/06/2015Beautiful location, amazing views of the sea from inside and outside the property. Very quiet location. Owners very helpful and friendly. Spacious accommodation for two people. Full cooking facilities which were tested thoroughly by us as we both have special diets so cooked our own food every day. Only issue was that the information we received before arrival was that towels are provided so we didn't take any of our own. However, we were only provided with one bath and one hand towel each for the whole week which meant we had to spend time washing and drying them every day. Not a problem - we'll just take some of our own towels next time......

Just doesn't get any better.
Reviewed on 04/05/2015How could you get much better than Nanpean? Mr Turvil has done a superb job creating the apartments and The Studio works well for two people, being compact but feeling quite spacious with the dual aspect allowing the light to flood in. The view from the window is unbeatable, dramatic and ever changing, it would be possible to spend a week just gazing out. One of the bugbears of staying in cottages is parking space - Nanpean has dedicated spaces so that's another big plus point!

Stunning location!!
Reviewed on 12/04/2015It's a lovely comfortable place. The only small thing was not enough hot water. The shower ran cold during the second shower most days and it went a little chilly at night. Night storage heaters. The owners particularly asked that you do not interfere with them.
June Turvil replied:
Sorry about the hot water. I will check that the timer is correctly set and
adjust to allow a longer heating period.

The Cape caps it all
Reviewed on 03/11/2014A lovely location to enjoy the westernmost past of England with the rugged coastline, Atlantic rollers and wonderful coves on your doorstep. The Studio has great views over Cape Cornwall with its iconic tin mining chimney and watching golfers taking on what is one of the most beautiful and challenging links courses in England. With St, Ives, Land's End and tourist attractions like Flambards all within easy drives makes being at the 'end of the lane' no problem, and the local town of St Just is delightful to visit by foot. The Studio has every convenience and the booking process matched its quality. What a pleasure to meet the owners who live nearby and have clearly invested in the property over many years, and their attention to detail is evidenced by the many repeat visitors of their guests!
