Quiet Oasis
Reviewed on 10/07/2019Spindrift is in an ideal location, away from any noise from traffic etc. The property itself is well appointed with a full range of white goods, flat screen TV, DVD and radio/cd player. Private parking right outside of the property is very convenient. Would definitely book again.

A relaxing and peaceful stay in a favourite place
Reviewed on 12/06/2019Very clean and tidy good accommodation and the owners are very helpful and close nearby A good standard throughout the property. The beds had lovely linen but are non-fitted sheets which I find tend to move around and crease up. First world problems! Condition is overall very good though there are a couple of cracked floor tiles in the bathroom One slight annoyance is some dog mess on the driveway into the property as we walk in and out each day Value for money is ok, I feel that all holiday cottages have gone up hugely in price over the last 4 years. Location is perfect for us

A week in Roseland
Reviewed on 08/05/2019This is a super lodge for four people but it is not in Portscatho as listed but on the outskirts of Germans. It is very quiet and you have to drive through narrow lanes to get anywhere. Not a good location for touring Cornwall but superb if you want to hide away in Roseland and not travel far but walk .

It is well appointed, comfortable and offers everything we want for a short break. The owners are friendly and nothing is too much, yet your privacy is never encroached on. CanA?t wait for our next visit.

restful week in well equipped cottage.
Reviewed on 08/07/2018Nice property in convenient location for Roseland. All appliances worked well and easy to operate. Utility drying room a real bonus. Really useful if needed for wet walking kit or beach wear. We had a good week and appreciated the quiet in the property. There were only two of us but the two shower rooms make this ideal for a family or two couples.

A very relaxing and peaceful stay in a beautiful part of Cornwall
Reviewed on 06/06/2018A very relaxing and peaceful stay in a beautiful part of Cornwall. Spindrift is not huge but was perfect for my wife daughter and me. A few points of feedback. There is a bees nest in the west wall of the property - near the drying room. The hot water capacity is quite small. It is all gone after two showers so I there were four adults at the property all having showers this may be a problem. It would be useful if bin liners were provided. There was one provided for the dustbin but it was too small. No bin liners were provided for the kitchen bin. There were two lots of dog mess outside near the gate - I noticed there were some dogs in the offices by the road - possibly something to do with them but I didn't see any "incidents" occurring. I was concerned our daughter (toddler) might step or fall in it. The washing machine, dryer and freezer are all really useful as is the drying room hosepipe and washing line. Most cottages we have stayed in don't have this. Very handy after a day at the beach or on the water. The garden, deck and bbq area are great and you can just see the sea to the south east. Great views and very quiet.

We had a great holiday thanks
Reviewed on 27/07/2017Lots of lovely things to do in and around Portscatho. We loved the new hut down by the harbour where we had delicious coffee and croisants overlooking the harbour. The Thirstea at Towen beach is fantastic with such nice people. We love staying in Spindrift as we love the cottage and it's location. There are so many great walks on the doorstep. It's home from home.

Review of Spindrift Chalet
Reviewed on 17/07/2016We had a good holiday in this property for a sensible price. I don't want to be critical but my comments are:- 1) Friday is not a good day to travel a long distance on the roads. It is a pity more places do not cater for mid week changeovers. We had long delays going in both directions. 2) The TV in the property is quite small and slow to respond. 3) Some more cutlery (especially knives and spoons) would help make better use of the dishwasher. Also the large bowls are not the best shape for the dishwasher.

A week in Spindrift
Reviewed on 03/07/2016Lovely place to stay. Close to Port Scartho which has all amenities you will need, shop open 7-7, cafA(C), pub and the best coffee shop in the world. The owners were great, one morning we had a problem with the hot water, it was sorted in a flash with no fuss or bother. The property is very comfortable with everything you could need. The bedrooms are very spacious and there are 2 shower rooms. We cant recommend this property highly enough.

Perfect place for a relaxed family break
Reviewed on 05/06/2016We arrived at Spindrift very late after a long journey and directions and property instructions were clear. The location is fab and the property perfect for us, a family of 4. The owners came to see us on our first day to ask how we were getting on and let us know they were available should we need any assistance or advice on the area. Would recommend highly and hope to come back next year.

Well worth a stay
Reviewed on 31/08/2015When we first booked Spindrift, we wondered if it was 'cottagy' enough for a holiday in Cornwall. In reality, it was ideal. There is ample space and practicality for a week's stay.. We were a family of of two adults and two children, and this was great for us. We really liked it. In the village of Portscatho nearby, there is little parking space, but Spindrift has plenty of space for your car, right outside the door. You can either walk or drive the two minute journey to the village. It's quiet and has good views across the fields to the sea in the background. On the minus side, we could have done with the owner coming to see us mid week, rather than us going to knock on their door. Spindrift needs a few improvements, some of which are minor, but do make a difference. The kitchen needs some oven gloves (there's nothing to remove hot items with, from the oven), the bathrooms (there are two en suites, which is great) need soap, and the biggest issue by far...The mattresses need changing (they are are way too soft and give no support to your back). Despite these things, we would definitely consider staying at Spindrift again.

Short stay
Reviewed on 08/04/2015Great rural location with some sea view from the garden. Very private and peaceful. We loved our stay at spindrift, parking and space to relax away from the busy villages was a bonus. No welcome pack provided or tea bags, it would have been really useful as we were arriving very late at night.

Spindrift Cottage July 2014

A pleasant position
Reviewed on 17/05/2014We know the Roseland area very well & first time of staying in this particular accommodation. A very nice location with views over fields & beyond the sea. At the rear was a well stocked utility room. Quite a busy area beyond that with cars coming & going. You didn't need to bring the 'kitchen sink' but cushions would have been welcome for people with bad backs & sorely missed a hairdryer. Had a good hunt for one. Windows/frames need a good clean to wipe away spiders/cobwebs together with cleaning the inside lights in bathrooms where dead flies collect. We had a couple of issues & tried to contact owners/CC but to no avail. Tried the owners again but found our mob no. had been blocked. Not very helpful. Dog's mess is an issue & cleared it up regularly - do not know the dog's owners. Lovely views, good for visiting the area & generally well stocked with all your needs.

Reviewed on 18/09/2013Found this property via the Internet and booked on impulse. What a gem! The location is excellent for touring and sightseeing And is wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The accommodation exceeded expectations; travelling with an elderly relative two ensuites was a real bonus, brilliant! A warm welcome from the owners who, though on hand, took a back seat so we felt as if it really was 'our home'. Booking was easy and we were even supplied with travel directions.I hope we may be able to make another trip Spindrift in the future. Highly recommended.

Relaxing Spindrift
Reviewed on 11/09/2013Very quiet and secluded location - just right for relaxing. Only a 10 minute walk to the pubs and restaurants in the village. About a 30 minute or so walk to the nearest beach so we tended to use the car and leave it in the car park, which was then just a few minutes walk away. Ideal location for exploring the Roseland area and this part of Cornwall.
