Property Location

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.

St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Hotel Tresanton) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butcher, baker and art & clothes shops. The village also has both a doctor’s and a dentist’s surgery.

You can ride one of the Fal River Link Ferries to Falmouth, or take a delightful trip around the estuary, stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens, Malpas or Truro. Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and places to eat. Falmouth has a buzzing town centre filled with shops, restaurants and waterside attractions and is the sailing capital of Cornwall. It is renowned for being the third-largest natural harbour in the world. It’s a haven for both cruisers and racers, offering the sailor the last major port before the 12-hour crossing to the Isles of Scilly. Visitors to the Port will find the town teeming with coastal treasures, ranging from fish restaurants and boat trips to The National Maritime Museum, next to Port Pendennis. Henry VIII built Pendennis Castle in the 16th Century and it sits high above the harbour with truly magical panoramic views across the bay.

Events on the Roseland reach fever point in August when sailing regattas, carnivals, fayres and fun days take place all over the Roseland and the waters of the Carrick Roads. It is a memorable place for many people who return year after year to enjoy the magic of this beautiful place.

Views to die for

Lovely place to stay with amazing views across the water. A very well equipped and comfortable apartment obviously a family home rather than a featureless holiday let. Great to just sit and watch the world go by if the weather is inclement.

Beautiful stay on the harbour
Reviewed on 09/09/2021

We had a lovely week at Rosemullion in St. Mawes. A charming apartment directly looking over the harbour. This place had everything you needed. From every kitchen utensil to kids board games & kids surf boards for the sea. Very comfortable beds with crisp clean linen & comfy sofas with lovely furniture all round. Plenty of beds & kids had great fun in the bunk-bed bedroom. The apartment was not modern but classic which was up my street. Stairs inside go up to the apartment which could cause difficulties for elderly but for younger families this was fine. Everything you need nearby, beaches, boat trips, castle, church, restaurants, cafes, bakers, boutiques, art gallery, souvenir shops, post office, butchers & very essential for peopleA?s needsA?. a Co op! The owners are available to contact if need be & ring you prior to your holiday & before you leave We highly recommend this place. Lindsay & Dave Howard

The location in the centre of St Mawes was perfect for our family holiday. The accommodation was also clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the views and watching the boats from the main living area.

A beautiful flat with stunning views
Reviewed on 18/08/2021

We enjoyed our stay at lovely Rosemullion last week. The flat is spacious and well appointed, clean and welcoming. We were very impressed by how comfortable Rosemullion is. The flat has picture windows over looking the harbour which are ideal for people watching! Being right in the middle of town everything is at hand and convenient for catching the ferris etc. I recommend this holiday accommodation.
