Property Location
Boscastle is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. There is a pottery in the village and several gift shops. A footpath to the left of the quayside will take you to the 'Lookout' which is a wonderful vantage point from which to view the rugged coastline. Boscastle was once a favourite meeting place of the author Thomas Hardy, and is the location for one of his novels 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour as far as Long Island, where during the breeding season you may see razorbills, puffins & guillemots. There is a demanding 7 mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. There are several attractions along this stretch of coast including Strangles beach at the bottom of a large landslip with a rock arch the Northern Door. Just south of here is High Cliff which is the highest point on the Cornish coast path. Don't forget to visit Pentargon inlet which has an imposing waterfall that cascades down to the sea below.
On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. Camelford is a great centre for touring, walking, fishing, swimming or surfing holidays. The town is steeped in history and has excellent shopping and sporting facilities. Port Isaac is the location of the televisions series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Steins famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston is the capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches.

Enjoyed our stay and had a relaxing time.
Reviewed on 20/11/2020It's the first time I have been to Cornwall and my wife and I had a great holiday. Reevescott has stunning views and was a fantastic location, away from it all but near to everything. Enjoyed our walks and visiting other areas around Cornwall. We only had a week but would definitely stay here again.

Excellent in all aspects
Reviewed on 09/11/2020This was an amazing find. The cottage is everything you need and want. The views were breathtaking. The owners were brilliant, keeping away but there if you needed them. We should have been there for a week but lockdown hit so sadly cut the holiday shot but All in all this is a Cornish gem which we will be returning to.

Location and peace
Reviewed on 22/10/2020This is a lovely spot to relax, explore the coast path and villages or just to site and look at the view. The hosts were welcoming and available if required but then just left us to it and you could think you were alone itA?s that quiet here. For location to the coast path and coast road you canA?t ask for anything more and the property is spacious for 2, warm, clean and comfortable. Very enjoyable

The place was well stocked with everything you need and the owners next door are friendly and leave you to it. Each night we sat on the balcony with a few beers watching the sun set over the sea- heaven!

Wonderful post-lockdown holiday
Reviewed on 16/07/2020We were so fortunate to be able to book Reevescott Retreat for our first post-lockdown holiday. The owners could not have been more welcoming and wonderful (at a distance of course!). The house was spotlessly clean and in just the most wonderful location. We could have looked at the sea views all day. The walks on the doorstep of the property were lovely and we could not have had a better trip.

The views down to the sea and coastline are complemented by beautiful sky scapes as the sun sets, a real artist's paradise. Dream stay in a beautiful place
Reviewed on 07/09/2019We stayed here before and after our wedding day and had the best time. The house is clean with lovely modern but homely finishes. Sarah and Paul were amazing hosts and so kind to us during our stay. We had the best view and lovely coffee on the patio looking out at sea. Different beautiful skies and sunsets every day. We had rain and sunshine and loved it all. Such a beautiful location with lovely kind friendly people who leave you alone but are on hand if you need anything. ItA?s near enough to villages but outside enough to feel remote and really in the countryside. Walking distance to the woods and st nectans glen waterfall. 30-40 minute drive to Bodmin or Wadebridge for supermarket shops. Comfy bed, lovely hot shower, and a dream location. We couldnA?t have asked for more.l and are so grateful to Sarah and Paul.

A Little Gem
Reviewed on 11/10/2018If you are looking for a very comfortable and convenient place to stay on the North Cornish coast, this is it. Whilst it is not big, it has more than enough space for two for a very relaxed and enjoyable stay. It is also fitted out with everything you need to make your stay complete. The patio area is a great place to sit anytime of day but late afternoons when the sun is seting over the sea and headland are special. Your hosts Paul and Sarah are on hand should you need and they can provide a wealth of knowlwedge of where to go and what to see. Having said that they are never intrusive and just let you get on with things. You will also meet Nancy and Henry, their two dogs who are both vey friendly, especially Nancy who is always so pleased to see you. Go and enjoy!

Stunning views, peacefy getaway
Reviewed on 09/06/2018Reevescott Retreat is a true gem. Everything you would need for your stay is provided. Located halfway between Boscastle and Tintagel the house is easily located off the road that connects the two with stunning views out to the coastline. Being between the two towns means that you have access to pubs and basic shops with a quick drive but peaceful nights in quiet Trethevy. Rocky Valley, Nectans waterfalls and the coastline are within easy reach. A bus does go through the village but a reduced service from a few years ago means we chose not to use it. The owners are friendly and welcoming. They are to hand if you need anything but likewise respect your privacy. The cream tea and milk for a cuppa on arrival were much appreciated

Perfect place for north coast Cornwall getaway
Reviewed on 24/03/2018We love the coast and so loved this accommodation - the highlight was the view of the open sea from the double glazed doors and the perfect decking. Simply divine. And within walking easy distance of Tintagel and Boscastle along the coast with beautiful views in all directions. The accommodation was very well supplied and comfortable and warm - we were there in March when it snowed and were toasty warm the whole time indoors. The immediate area around the accommodation is quiet so lots to do all around but if you just want to sit on the decking with a cuppa (or stronger) and gaze out to sea there is little noise to disturb you. A really wonderful location.

Wonderful place to stay and relax whilst celebrating my birthday
Reviewed on 24/04/2017From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. The location was beautiful and the cottage was everything we could have wished for. I could not think of anything else that we would need for a short break that was not already provided. We had taken the essential supplies to last until we went shopping but found that there was milk, tea, coffee already there and some delicious scones, jam and cream which were just what we needed after travelling from Kent. We met Sarah and Paul a couple of hours after we had unpacked and they were very easy to chat to and knowledgeable about what was nearby for us to make a start on our touring around day to day. We were lucky with nice bright and warm weather on our stay but even so the cottage had a good heating system which we could use if it turned colder. Nearby Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow were great to visit and other places too, there was plenty of information by way of leaflets and maps in the cottage. If you are a walker this would be a great area to stay. Relaxing evenings on the patio overlooking the sea just about put the icing on the cake, so beautiful and memorable for my special birthday. We would love to stay again.
