St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Hotel Tresanton) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butcher, baker and art & clothes shops. The village also has both a doctor’s and a dentist’s surgery.
Events on the Roseland reach fever point in August when sailing regattas, carnivals, fayres and fun days take place all over the Roseland and the waters of the Carrick Roads. It is a memorable place for many people who return year after year to enjoy the magic of this beautiful place.

Really nice property in lovely fishing villageReviewed on 19/09/2020
- St Mawes is a lovely fishing village - the property is up a steep hill from the village, which won't suit everyone, but that is very clearly flagged in the marketing literature and provides good daily exercise - a lovely property, which has been very nicely designed and decorated. It has a spacious feel which we really appreciated. - the kitchen is well appointed and had everything we needed - it was very nice of the owners to check in on us - itA?s a very personal thing but we found the bed mattresses a little too firm

A great base for a holidayReviewed on 13/08/2020
We had a week at Holly Tree house with three generations of the family and it was great. In these COVID-19 times everything was cleaned and spotless and we really appreciated that. A travel cot and high chair were also there and ready for us when we arrived. The property is in a great location and such a short walk down to the harbour (the hill gave me good exercise each day). The views from the windows down to St Mawes are perfect. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. Looking round the house has given me ideas for changes I want to make to my own. We loved being able to enjoy the evening sat on the decking with a glass of wine. Our children loved it and have asked to be taken back next year.

Lovely holiday home in great location just five minute walk to St Mawes in peaceful locationReviewed on 13/08/2020
Lovely holiday home in perfect location for easy access to St Mawes and surrounding area. Also the garden was great for relaxing. Great to have parking for 2 cars but access to driveway not easy. Holiday home needs more mugs, especially when full of 8 people. Needs some proper mirrors.
