Stunning property with amazing views
Reviewed on 27/06/2018We stayed for a week in this beautifully maintained and comfortable property. One of the best equipped and furnished properties weA?ve ever stayed in. Everything was top notch quality and made our stay so comfortable. Gail and Nigel were friendly, helpful, on hand if you needed, but discreet. The view from every room was stunning, even on an overcast day. The garden was beautiful, and from the terrace you have a wonderful view of it. A handy gate in the garden opens onto a walkway which takes you to the centre of St Mawes in about 5 minutes, an easy walk down, but a bit steeper on the way up! Perfect location for walks, or catching the little ferries to Falmouth, Trelissick, or Place. We forgot to write in the visitors book before we left, but to sum up, it was a fabulous holiday, in a stunning house. Many thanks to Gail and Nigel for being so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

great stay
Reviewed on 08/03/2018This is a beautifully appointed ground floor flat with direct access to wide garden and patio terrace with a stunning water views. V clean and well kept - the bathrooms are lovely. Also spacious. St Mawes in winter is v peaceful, don't know what summer is like. The owners, who live on the floor above, were away, so our interaction was brief, but they seemed very nice. Would definitely go again. The only weird thing was the gas fire in the lounge - when we put it on, it gave off an odd fuel smell - maybe because it hasn't been used for a while.

Reviewed on 23/02/2017Our weekend in Mid February was the coldest of the year in the UK yet Gail and Nigel gave us the warmest of welcomes and ensured that their oh so comfortable apartment was tropically warm. We would have been content to enjoy the panoramic views over St Mawes and the Falmouth estuary and Helford river coastline without even going outside. We did of course and found Trellisk and Trebah gardens three months ahead of the UK with camellias and daffs in full flower and Rhododendrons beginning to open. A perfect weekend.

Another fabulous week in Hideaway
Reviewed on 18/10/2016We have stayed at Hideaway twice and have already booked our stay for next year. The owners, who live on site, are friendly and helpful. The property is faultless and the view is to die for. We have been lucky with the weather for the time of year but even when it rained a couple of times the place is so comfortable it is actually nice to have an excuse, if one is needed, to lounge on the sofa and watch the clouds, read a book or play a game. If you are into cooking on holiday then the kitchen is better stocked than any holiday cottage I have ever stayed in - you could take on any "bake-off" challenge or cook a full Sunday roast if the fancy took you. When the sun shines you have a huge terrace with sun loungers and a barbecue. The beach is a few minutes walk away.

A fantastic apartment in a stunning location!
Reviewed on 02/11/2014Hideaway has been finished to a high standard and has got everything you need, even the children got their own bathroom! It's location is fantastic and as long as you're not afraid of a small hill climb, the views are spectacular. Nigel and Gail were wonderful hosts and a real credit to holiday rentals. Don't be put off by the compact kitchen mentioned by others; it has everything you need and honestly I dont cook banquets when I'm on holiday so kitchen space really wasn't a problem. Plenty of books available to keep you occupied and an on hand washer and dryer proving invaluable in bad weather with kids. St Mawes itself is a great location and had it not been foggy all week we would have done more walking around the peninsular but rain or shine both cottage and location were a fab choice with some wonderful pubs to while away the evenings playing games with the kids. There are some steps to access the apartment so baby buggies might struggle but I fully recommend Hideaway to couples and families alike.

A Hidden Gem
Reviewed on 29/08/2014Hideaway is literally a hidden gem ! Nigel and Gail, the owners, were very welcoming and accommodating and helped us to settle in quickly. The flat has an amazing view of the waterfront at St Mawes and over to Place from the lounge and both bedrooms which provided all the entertainment we needed. The flat was furnished to a very high standard and equipped very well. If you are a cooking enthusiast, you may find the kitchen a little on the tight side, but it was very well equipped and we found it was great for our needs. Hideaway is also very handy for St Mawes - just a quick walk down a 'secret' alley (as named by our children) and you arrive in the centre of the village, which we found very useful for our regular ice-cream forays and eating out. A great base for a relaxing or active holiday !
