Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors' lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day are truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. These events are easily reached on foot as Royal Cornwall Yacht Club is 5 minutes down the road, Falmouth High Street is a 10 minute walk away and Events Square is about 15 minutes by foot.

As a university town many events are arranged by the students including annual exhibitions of art and photographic work. There is a Sainsbury supermarket 2 minutes away by car and a large Asda 5 minutes away.

The beaches at Gyllingvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea! There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein has opened his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.

Perfect dog-friendly holiday

This holiday home is ideally located very close to the shops, bars & restaurants in Falmouth & has fabulous views across the harbour towards Flushing. Our 2 small dogs were secure & happy - the inner porch door & stair gate were a great help - and the lovely garden was perfect. The house is large and comfortable, very light and airy with everything you might need to prepare a meal or to keep you entertained if the weather isn't so good. The beds are large and comfy too. We didn't use the playroom on the top floor but it looked great for older children. We would highly recommend a stay at Harbour View.

Elegant comfortable family home with stunning views of Falmouth Harbour

A quiet location with lovely views of Falmouth Harbour yet only 5 minutes walk to bars, shops and the Prince of Wales Pier. We felt at home right away as the decor and furnishings were as we would have chosen ourselves with spacious rooms, a large bathroom and very comfortable sofas and beds. It was tricky getting our car in the garage after a long journey; it was so safe and snug there that we got ourselves Fal Mussel cards and left it for a week while we explored the town on foot, took buses to Gweek and Penryn, and ferries to Malpas, Truro, Trelissick (NT), St Mawes and Place. It was so enjoyable and relaxing taking a boat trip every day, seeing seals and an amazing variety of birds, walking the coast paths, and avoiding all the hassle and expense of parking. Falmouth is a great place to eat and browse the shops and galleries as well as having two cinemas and a national maritime museum. We even managed to catch a live theatre performance; a good all-year-round holiday destination. We will definitely be back soon.

Very good locaion and great cottage.

Very well equipped on the whole but a couple of trays to carry food to the dining table would be good.

Reply from Sophie Beaumont

Thank you for your kind review Jacky. A tray is a good idea and I have now bought one for the house. Sophie

Great Holiday

The property is brilliantly located, offering a great view and was brilliantly kept. Easy to find and has garage parking which negates the need to hunt for nearby parking spots. Would definitely recommend the property to anyone visiting Falmouth.
