Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in South East Cornwall. Ideally located within easy reach of both The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Once a major Pilchard port, now the harbour boasts a smaller fleet, many of which provide sea tours, or boat trips to Fowey situated further up the South coast. The Harbour provides an ideal back drop for a fish and chip supper, followed by a stroll through the town at dusk.
With an eight minute drive to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and 30 minutes to the Eden Project, Mevagissey provides a excellent location for the keen gardener. Gorran Haven nearby offers an alternative day out as well as Pentewan with its fresh water dock basin. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay.

Great location in the heart of Mevagissey, all the facilities you need and perfect for a couple - well equipped clean and comfortable. The only downside to the cottage was the smell of damp dog as you went in (we wondered on apporach why the window was open!). My fault for not checking the booking re pets allowed as would not have stayed if we knew they allowed dogs - as non dog owners its really off putting and unpleasant. But my wife purchased a candle and we burned that whenever we were using the lounge/kitchen area and that masked the smell. There was no smell upstairs in the bedrooms. You even get a sea view out the bedroom window.
Following this review we have now changed our policy and only allow small dogs.

We loved Fulmar cottage and felt that it was perfect for the 2 of us. We used the second bedroom as a wardrobe and changing room. All facilities were excellent and we felt cosy and comfortable throughout our stay. Alison was on call fro any queries we had and this was a great comfort for peace of mind. The location is fabulous as we loved being so close to the harbour with great views out of the bedroom window. The ease of accessing the great variety of establishments in town made for a delightful stay. There were only 2 things that we would really like to feed back and that is in being given more details about where the bins are, and the fact that the adjacent door is the basement - for which there is a key - and that rubbish bins are here. There was a horrible fish smell when we arrived which was due to the previous tenants leaving fish in the bin, so we would recommend that advice is given so this problem doesn't occur again - this wasn't a very pleasant welcoming to be honest. Also, the blankets in the bedroom wardrobe smelt of dogs so we didn't feel comfortable to use these which was a disappointment. This are minor things overall but would like to feed back on them so that other peoples stay can be made that much more prefect for the future. Kind regards Ewan and Lorraine x
Thank you for drawing these matters to our attention. The housekeeper will attend to them forthwith.

Very clean, everything is nearly new. From bedroom window full view over the harbour. No access by car. Small rooms, steep stairs. No customer documentation, no WIFI-Key.
We are sorry you experienced these problems however, there is an information booklet available in the cottage and this contains the WiFi code. The housekeeper can also be contacted by phone at any time for any queries.
