Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in South East Cornwall. Ideally located within easy reach of both The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Once a major Pilchard port, now the harbour boasts a smaller fleet, many of which provide sea tours, or boat trips to Fowey situated further up the South coast. The Harbour provides an ideal back drop for a fish and chip supper, followed by a stroll through the town at dusk.

With a ten minute drive to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and 30 minutes to the Eden Project, Mevagissey provides a excellent location for the keen gardener. Gorran Haven nearby offers an alternative day out as well as Pentewan with its fresh water dock basin. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay.

Portloe is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of the Roseland peninsula and one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall. The steep sided valley has meant that it has managed to escape development over the years and many buildings differ little from when they were built. Sir John Betjeman said of Portloe "One of the least spoiled and most impressive of Cornish fishing villages". Broom Parc, the country house setting (now a B&B) for the Camomile Lawn a 1992 TV drama is a short walk up the coast path.

We totally fell in love with fordlea. Its location .its views. The only thing extra we would have liked was a barbeque so we could sit on the patioand cook outside on a nice summer evening . I wish it was mine and wish we were all there now .thanks again Geoff Boalch

Guest from Bridport stayed for 7 nights.

Fordlea in a heatwave.

Generally house was good. The outside of the property would benefit from a bit of tidying up and painting, but the garden is well planted and nice to sit in. The upper terrace is fab if you get sunshine, which we did - heatwave, with lovely views across hills. Garden parasol would be good addition. The kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom decor is a bit quirky . We loved it. Location ideal for walking into Mevagissey - about 5 minutes. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
