Excellent in every way
Reviewed on 20/06/2022We chose Demelza for the location, it is very convenient for day trips around Cornwall. The cottage, apart grom being lovely and extremely clean and comfortable, had everything you could think off. It was a lovely gesture to find, bread, butter, fresh milk, tea, coffee and sugar on arrival. I can't thank the owners enough as my sister had a health problem on our last day and had to go into hospital. Their attitude, help and understanding of the situation was superb. Well done you are the best!!

Access lane to the property not easy to find and would benefit from signage.

It was so peaceful, around 4 miles from Truro.Demelza had everything we needed, even a few groceries for our arrival. It was warm and cosy.I would imagine in the summer it would be even nicer as there was a nice garden with outside seating. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay at Demelza
Reviewed on 14/10/2017Our stay at Demelza was lovely. The location was central and we could explore both coasts from there. It was also reasonably close to supermarkets. Martin was helpful and friendly. It seemed that everything had been thought of - including a rechargeable torch and torch on the keys (we found this very useful). The bed was too soft for our liking, but obviously this is a very personal opinion. There was no WiFi at the property and very little mobile phone signal (on Three network). It was a very well kept and clean cottage. It seemed almost like new! There was a large outdoor space, which had the weather been a little warmer, would have been a lovely place to sit in the evenings. We were also able to keep our mountain bikes at the property (a deciding factor in our choice of cottage). We would definitely stay here again!

Yet another wonderful stay at Demelza
Reviewed on 10/12/2016This was our third time staying at Demelza and on each occasion it gets better and better. Firstly this property should appeal to any couples who are visiting Cornwall for the first time. It is close enough to the City of Truro so that you have the convenience of all the shops, central enough that you can easily explore the majority of Cornwall with most destinations no more than 30 mins by car, whilst also being remote enough that you can forget about the hustle and bustle of normal life. Within a 5 minute drive is the village of Threemilestone which has a lovely pub serving good food all day, convenience store, fish & chips and chinese takeaways. The property is fully stocked with all you need to enjoy a relaxing time away. Martin greeted us when we arrived and had provided us with a lovely cot for our daughter to sleep in along with the usual welcoming treats. Nothing is too much trouble and although Martin is always on hand, you only ever see him if you need him. The surrounding farmland is very peaceful and even the cattle in the next field tend to be very quiet. We had to visit later in the year than usual and was worried about getting out on the beach with our 2 and a half year old daughter, but the lovely Cornish weather only let us down on 3 out of the 14 days with all the others good enough to allow us to not only get on the beach, but also into the sea so don't let the time of year put you off. Would we go back? We've already booked, and can't wait!!!!

The kitchen had all that we could need (except a dishwasher) with a full stove, small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and lots of dishes. The welcome pack of coffee, butter, cheese and baguette was a real treat. The owner was very responsive to our needs when we had questions. We would definitely rent here again.

I later met Martins wife, who was very pleasant, and ensured we were happy with our stay. Would I holiday here again? A very definite yes!

Good value accommodation
Reviewed on 14/09/2015This place was very good value for money and excellently furnished and clean. The covered verandah was particularly useful for walkers. Our only issue was that the bed became progressively uncomfortable as the week progressed leaving us with backache. Very relaxing Spring break in a peaceful location
Reviewed on 12/06/2015The area is very familiar to us. This was our first stay at Demelza. It compares very favourably when compared to other properties we have stayed at over recent years. The rooms, facilities and equipment were very clean. The space within the rooms was ample. The bed was comfortable for both of us. Plenty of room for parking. Greeted by a local buzzard on our arrival which we observed on many occasions during the week together with other birds and wildlife - attracted by the surrounding trees and farmland. Ideally situated for accessing SW Cornwall.

Overall a lovely holiday home and can't wait to return next year!
Reviewed on 05/10/2014A lovely property just enough off the beaten track to be peaceful at all times but still in a great location with easy access to both the North and South coastline of Cornwall. We were greeted by the owners on our arrival and they were very friendly and welcoming taking the time to show us around the property as well as getting to know us and our 5 month old daughter. We had asked for a travel cot which had already been set up for us and also provided us with a baby bath which was a nice surprise. Bread, butter, cheese, milk, tea and coffee waiting for the hungry traveller was a very welcome touch. Great facilities throughout the property both inside and out. Very clean with everything you would need for an enjoyable time away. However if I had to be really critical, (and please note that me and my FiancA(C)e suffer with our backs) we both found the bed to be very uncomfortable as although it was a sprung mattress, it was on a solid base and was therefore much too firm! That said, after a couple of bad nights in the bedroom we moved to using the Sofa bed which was much kinder to us and meant we were able to lay and watch the stars. If the bed had been better it would have been top marks all round! Overall very impressed and as the title says, we can't wait to return, hopefully for longer next time. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Graham, Sair and little Alice
