Clipper View has been lovingly renovated by the owners and is an immaculate family home with incredible, unspoilt, views across Gerrans Bay. The accommodation is luxurious with a stunning kitchen diner and separate lounge, both with wood burning stoves, the bay window in the lounge makes the most out of the vista. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with sea views and a rear aspect twin bedroom all beautifully furnished. To the front of the property is a mature garden and patio which remains in the sun for most of the day and is a perfect spot for a cold glass, a good book and gazing out on the glittering sea.

It is only a short, five minute walk, along the path at the bottom of the garden to the pretty little harbour where many artists have taken inspiration due to the superb light and there are a number of delightful galleries. The Plume of Feathers public house is nestled in the square and serves local ales and good pub food all year round. There is a small beach at low tide and delicious refreshments available during the day from Tatams. Rosevine beach, which is dog friendly all year is just to the east of the village it has beautiful golden sands (at low tide) and is over looked by the increasingly famous Hidden Hut. Before you visit try and get on their social media page and acquire tickets to their special outdoor dining events. The owners of the Hidden Hut have now opened a restaurant in the village itself - Tatams Wood Fired Taverna, located under the Harbour Club - well worth checking it out.

Accommodation
Ground Floor: The entrance is at the rear of the property, and you enter into the open plan kitchen and dining area with fully fitted units and appliances, French doors that open onto the rear courtyard, a wood burning stove and further French doors that open to the living room. There are comfortable sofas and chairs, a bay window with sea views, wood burning stove and flat screen TV with Netflix. Further door to hallway with front door to the garden, door back to the kitchen / dining area. Downstairs cloakroom with WC and hand basin. Hall with stairs to;
First Floor: The stairs open on to a small landing with doors leading to; a family bathroom with WC and wash hand basin. A twin bedroom with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. A double, master bedroom with 5' zip and link bed, sea views and an en suite shower room with WC and hand basin. Further stairs leading to;
Second Floor: The stairs open onto a small landing area with doors to; Owners storage area. Shower room with WC and hand basin. Double bedroom with 4'6" bed, storage and sea views
Exterior: There is off road parking for 2 cars in front of the garage, to the rear of the property there are quite a few steps down to the front door from the parking spaces. To the front of the property is a private garden with mature shrubs and those superb views. There is a BBQ (charcoal not provided). There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer accessed from the courtyard outside the back door.

Facilities & Services
Clipper View has under floor heating on all floors from a ground source heat pump. The kitchen has a range of cupboards & worktops. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge / freezer. The outside utility area contains a washing machine and tumble dryer. The sitting room has a digital TV & DVD player with Netflix. There are further TVs in the two main bedrooms along with hairdryers if required. The house has unlimited broadband WiFi. An iron & ironing board, a cot and high chair are also supplied.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is parking available for 2 cars to the rear. Smoking is not permitted and dogs are not accepted at Clipper View.

Portscatho and its neighbouring village of Gerrans are located on the eastern coast of the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, overlooking the dramatic Gerrans Bay. A truly peaceful waterside village, Portscatho is a lovely place for a holiday. There are miles of coastal and countryside footpaths to explore, particularly along St Anthony's Head. Portscatho was once a busy fishing harbour, but now it has become a haven for artists due to the striking light which is particularly good in the morning sun. More than anything, Portscatho is a relaxing place. The beaches such as Porthcurnick, Towan and Porthbeor are simply idyllic and these are only minutes from the village. With a superb local butchers shop, 2 great little pubs and a well stocked local store, Portscatho and Gerrans are a lovely place to spend a holiday.

Just to the west of Portscatho is St Mawes which is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer. St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads.

There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Tresanton Hotel) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butcher, baker and art & clothes shops. The village also has a doctor’s surgery and a dentist’s surgery.

There are some stunning locations to eat on the Roseland including the Michelin starred Driftwood restaurant on the way down to Rosevine beach where the chef, Chris Eden, and his team deliver a truly special experience, you will obviously need to book this one early. There is also the Hidden Hut located above the field at Rosevine with its eclectic menus, convivial atmosphere, bring your own booze and social media driven events list! (Best find them on Facebook to see what is on!) The Hidden Hut has received rave reviews from the local and national press and the management team have just opened Tatams wood fired Taverna in the village. Slightly further afield are the Nare Hotel and Quarterdeck with fine dining and dramatic views across Gerrans Bay, the world renowned Tresanton Hotel in St Mawes or the newly refurbished Idle Rocks Hotel. On top of this list there are some excellent country pubs in all of the local villages supporting Cornish produce and local beers.

Perfect Portscatho

I reluctantly write this review, as selfishly didn't want to encourage people to our new found gem! Clipper View was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful house with an even more beautiful view. Easy stroll to the beach and pub. Perfect. We hope to return soon.

Portscatho Retreat!

What a beautiful house by the sea! We have stayed in Portscatho every year for the last 20 years and this is one of the best places we’ve rented. A fabulous view, comfy beds, well equipped. Everyone at home keeps asking what we ‘did’ in Cornwall, honestly we sat on the terrace and relaxed in th sun! Would definitely rent again.

Perfect house in a perfect location

Clipper View was exceptionally comfortable, spotlessly clean and in a stunningly perfect location. We all loved the house and its surroundings and spent a very happy week there, sorry we couldn't stay longer. We loved sitting out on the terraced porch overlooking the sea and the south coastal path. Plenty to see and do, too: the nearby beach with delicious food from the Hidden Hut cafe; Portscatho with its harbour and pub and the coffee/hot chocolate bar overlooking the sea; nearby NT gardens, St. Anthony's Head path and beaches, Falmouth and the Maritime Museum and much more.
