Stunning location, excellent customer service, relaxing cottagelovely holiday, ideal for half term. Highly reccomended.

A cottage for 4 with 2 bedrooms. However we were a party of two and think the 1st floor accommodation for 4 would be difficult. If each day all occupants preferred a shower this would be somewhat congested. Access is restricted especially on arrival and departure loading baggage due to the Car Parking area being some elevated distance from the cottage accessed by gravel steps. Day to day access to parking was not a problem but would be difficult for more elderly occupants. This said we had a marvelous time and settled in well, this cottage as other Tregothnan properties we have stayed at was extremely well stocked and to a high standard. Very cosey when the weather was less settled and marvelous views across the creek at sunset. Lucy from Tregothnan was extremely helpful and provided a splendid welcome.

Last week we've had a lovely stay and loved the well appointed cottage and it's idyllic location. The cottage was so well equipped and even had an axe - apparently if we'd wanted to go foraging for wood! We all loved the garden and the majestic views towards the River Fal, thankfully the majority of the garden was 'dog proof' except by the gate which was tested by our small KC Cavalier. On the whole the property was worth the extra cost, although the additional charge of £50 per dog, we felt was excessive as we had to pay £100 for our dogs to supposedly cover the extra cleaning. We appreciate that some people may not look after the property to the owner's standard but surely the deposit for breakages etc should have been sufficient.

Bethel Cottage is really a home from home, perfect for a peaceful stay in Cornwall - walks from the front door of the cottage, bird life on the creek and surrounding woods - also easy to get to loads of places to visit - Falmouth, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trelissik, Newquay, Truro to name but a few! They really have thought of everything in this cottage - it is so well furnished and kitted out!! The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and we enjoyed the wood burner stove on a couple of the cooler evenings. Great kitchen, good shower and comfy beds - what more could you ask for?! Enjoy!!

This was our first visit to Cornwall, and the perfect location! The cottage is in an absolutely gorgeous and peaceful setting, but very near Truro, which makes getting supplies (and giving in to shopping spree urges) easy to do. As Americans driving in England for the first time, the farm track was quite a shock, but my fiance only needed to drive it a few times before he became comfortable with it. The directions provided upon booking were very clear and we had no trouble finding the cottage. The tea and biscuits which were left for us were delicious, and the cottage's kitchen contained everything needed to cook for ourselves quite a lot during our stay. I appreciated the equipment manual binder, as it's been a few years since I used a convection oven and I'd never learned to use a wood stove properly. We appreciated the informative signs located throughout the cottage, as well as the other cottage binder. The garden is lovely - even in early March! The view of the night sky surpassed anything we'd seen before. The path outside the front gate makes it easy to explore the area around the cottage on foot. Lucy was a joy to work with, and hearing her voice on our welcoming phone call helped us feel settled, after a very long adventure (complete with 2 days of snow delays) from the States. She was also readily available to answer our questions. My fiance proposed on our first morning. We were watching the St. Piran's Day Parade and both feeling very emotional. We would love to return to Bethel Cottage and will always have a spot in our heart for Cornwall.

Lovely cottage, very thoughtfully and thoroughly kitted out. We had a fantastic holiday despite not having the best weather!

Just the place to rest and unwind. Close to Truro and Falmouth which are also interesting places to visit. You could spend aa day just sitting in the garden.

Second time around, the weather decided to be not so kind. It didn't matter. The idyllic setting, a good book and a cup of tea make the holiday one to remember. Thank you.

Beautiful tranquil spot. Cottage very comfortable but with difficult access. Remember to pack in small bags not one big one as found negotiating stairs and steps up to car quite a workout. Also remember a good torch as solar lights are poor on the steep steps and the rechargeable torch in property broken and outside lights on very short time. Have stayed in much better value properties where Everything extra isn't charged for. Guess we were paying for the location which could not be beaten.
Guest from Thaxted stayed for 7 nights.
I would struggle to find fault with this superb cottage. The remoteness of the location was just what I wanted, but perhaps you could make this fact more obvious in the advertising
Guest from East Molesey stayed for 14 nights.
We were looking for total tranquility and we could not have found a better location than Bethel Cottage. It was so peaceful with just the sound of the estuary bird calls. We went on plenty of walks with our dogs and it was lovely to be able to set off from the cottage and not have to drive anywhere first. The cottage was so well equipped in the kitchen we could have been contenders on "Bake Off'! The rest of the cottage had everything we could want from books and games to wellies and clothes driers! We loved it and strongly recommend it if you are looking for a place to chill out!

We recently stayed at Bethal cottage for a week with our two dogs. The cottage was Cosy and welcoming and very well equipt. There was nothing that they hadn't thought about and all the equipment was of a high standard. The garden was gorgeous and secure for the dogs with lovely views and very peaceful. Someone phoned to ask if we were enjoying our stay which was a very nice touch. As was the welcome hamper with tea, biscuits, milk and flowers. We felt truly at home there and the location was ideal for exploring the many gardens and beaches Cornwall has to offer. The information file in the cottage was very useful, outlining all the dog friendly beaches and activities nearby. We had an amazing memorable holiday and can't wait to go again.

Had a lovely stay at the cottage which is very clean and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Is in a good location for touring round Cornwall. The dogs loved it and we hope to return next year.

A fantastic cottage, located out of the hustle and bustle of normal holiday life. The tidal river created an ever-changing landscape which we enjoyed immensely. It is not often we would consider returning to a property as we like to experience different areas but we will make an exception in this case.

Bethel cottage has a wonderful position right on the edge of the creek. The standard of the cottage is excellent. I would thoroughly recommend it. It is dog-friendly and has a lovely garden.

I booked this amazing cottage for mine and my partners second anniversary.. wanting somewhere we could take the pup and enjoy some lovely walks. And we'll what can I say. The title sums it up to be honest. Couldn't fault the property. It had everything you could want or need. The cottage in a whole was just what we needed to escape the world. Would recommend and will come back!

We love water so were immediately attracted by the photographs of Bethel Cottage. We were not disappointed. The private track to the cottage is shared with 2 other cottages and you tend to have your fingers crossed that you won't meet a car coming in the other direction, but this only happened once during the week and was soon sorted out with a short reverse. You park your car at the top of some steepish, wide steps. We both have slightly dodgy knees but managed these without any trouble! The cottage itself is well appointed and has everything you need. It also has wonderful views from all windows and we spent at least some time every day sitting on the patio with a cup of tea or glass of wine watching the tidal creek and the birds. Binoculars are provided, but we couldn't find a bird book amongst the books, so worth taking one with you. Access to the creekside walks is straight out of the front gate. I can certainly see that we will return here next time we are holidaying in Cornwall.

We (my hubby, our three boys and two dogs) had a brilliant summer holiday at Bethel Cottage. The cottage is exceptionally well appointed, and there was everything we needed and more to enjoy a self catering holiday. There is a huge amount of thought that has gone into making the cottage a really special place to stay. The hamper, slippers, wellies, and sun loungers were a lovely touch. I personally loved the slipper bath! The location is breath taking, and my hubby and boys very much enjoyed paddling across the river in our dingy. We loved its idyllic spot on the estate and found the track to it and the few steps to the property no problem at all. We ventured out every day and found the cottage very well positioned for exploring Cornwall. I should also mention the excellent service from Lucy who went to a lot of trouble to assist us on the evening of our arrival and throughout our stay. We would love to stay at Bethel cottage again.

We have stayed at three of the other cottages in coombe at different times of the year first time in summer . I could talk for hours on the wild life, the cottage and the surrounding country side . Curlews, Redshanks, Herons, a Fox crossing the creek at low tide each early evening, all very beautiful. Our dogs loved the gardens and the beaches on the coast. Wild strawberries growing in the garden, eating outdoors with the sun going down. Lovely cosy cottage with comfy beds. We didn't want to leave. We will be back again for sure.
Guest from Hayling Island stayed for 7 nights.
The location and views were excellent although access to the cottage -the road & the path- were not for the inferm. The decoration of the cottage was more show than practical with almost every surface covered with ornaments, so there was little space to put your stuff on .Rather too many cushions -12 I beleive on our bed (where do you put the 8 you do not need ,on top of the warddrobe, under the bed ?) & the bath , well it was difficult to get in ,more difficult to get out & once in it impossible to wash as it was so restictive I had to be more friendly with our friends than I intended and use their shower. Having said all that the sun shone and we had a great week relaxing, messing about on boats & visiting lots of spectacular gardens, buildings and tea rooms not to mention restraunts where Rick Sein was the clear winner (PS-Spellcheck would have been useful too )

The cottage is in a unique, exquisite location. Well equipped throughout and well thought through. To be allowed our dogs was a particular bonus.the only slight mar was the sofas were uncomfortable for us. Otherwise five stars.
Guest from Stockton On Tees stayed for 7 nights.
Wow, what a fantastic cottage in a great location, quiet and secluded apart from the odd walker passing by. Could have stayed put all week. Interesting grounds to explore with Apple and Plum trees full of fruit to pick (late September). Only thing to note is the river is tidal, and when out the river bed is all you're left with, great for wading birds but if you hire a boat/kayak then you need to plan you're trips. The cottage has everything you need including a well equipped kitchen which now includes a freezer and a dishwasher. 2 upstairs bathrooms are also a bonus. Some of the helpful info supplied needs updating to reflect changes in the cottage and surrounding businesses, only minor niggles. We wouldn't hasitate to go back and thank you to Lucy for providing Tregothnan Tea, biscuits and even some fresh milk on arrival, lovely touch.
Guest from Horley stayed for 7 nights.
We had high expectations of this cottage from the photographs on the website, but it still managed to exceed them. The cottage is incredibly well furnished, and comfortable, but most importantly, away from everything. We were so delighted with our stay we have booked again to go next year. Can't wait! Highly recommended.
Guest from Thaxted stayed for 14 nights.
Great situation and very remote Only aggravation was the pathway from car to cottage, which is very ,very steep. Maybe alright moving in, downwards, but when leaving, upwards......ugh!
Guest from Rainham, Gillingham stayed for 7 nights.
Lovely location, great views , plenty of wildlife. Peaceful , walks from cottage. Lovely log burner, cosy & warm. Well equipped. Will stay at Bethel again.
Guest from Cardiff stayed for 7 nights.
Superb location. Very well equipped cottage, appreciated wellies and slippers! Only negatives, noisy water tank in bedroom and lack of powerful shower
Guest from York stayed for 7 nights.
My family and me loved this cottage so much, we want to sell our own home and live there instead! Yes, it seems expensive when you're looking through all the others, but believe me when I say its location is idyllic. There are not many cottage gardens in this crowded country in which you can experience total silence, save for the cry of the wading birds - no traffic, no aeroplanes, no people (save for the occasional rambler), no sound at all, AND YET be only 2 miles from a Tesco! But peace and tranquillity are not the only pleasures. The cottage is very well appointed, warm and comfortable. Lovely beds, lovely atmosphere and almost everything you could wish for is provided. OK, being picky, the fridge is a bit tiny, and it really could do with a dishwasher, despite the ludicrous reason given in the handbook that the lack of one somehow helps you escape everyday life - hmm. OK, and the shower leaks... But these are minor points in an overall package that is hard to beat. Oh, and they also welcome a well behaved dog. Plus, for a very reasonable fee you can hire safe kayaks and spend the afternoon paddling up and down the creek with no one else to watch or pass opinion. And before I forget, if you take the plunge and hire this cottage, you MUST go for a two mile walk through the woods to an equally idyllically located house that sells amazing homemade cakes - enough said.... This cottage is truly a well hidden gem. And no, I'm NOT paid by the owners to write this! I only hope that the Tregothan Estate do not set out to commercialise or develop its immediate surroundings, which would ruin its appeal. So, my advice, is to just stay there for a week, and you will see for yourself, then you will have wished you'd booked two weeks....
