Property is in just the right location.
Great location. Wonderful terraces with fantastic views. We had a lovely holiday at Beam Reach. That said, the property is in need of some TLC.

No parking but stunning views
This was a great cottage and we loved staying in it. However we are in our seventies and feel that the company should have been much more upfront about the parking situation. It was an 5-8 minute walk to the nearest carpark, Calla Mill, and impossible to drop anything off at the cottage first so problems with unloading and packing the car took up a disproportionate amount of thought and effort in what should have been a relaxing week. Putting that to one side the cottage is beautifully furnished and well equipped and we still miss the river views.

Lovely and comfortable cottage in a great location
The cottage was very comfortable and clean. We were 4 adults staying for 6 nights at the beginning of May. The location was perfect for us, it's an easy walk to centre of Fowey with all the shops and restaurants. Parking was good this time of year, we particularly liked booking the car parking via an app for the whole duration of our stay so didn't need to worry about displaying parking tickets. We were also able to do it from the comfort of the cottage as we arrived in the evening. The only disadvantage of staying in this part of Fowey is the limited space for loading/unloading the car. But we did manage as there is an area not far from the cottage where some space is available. The cottage is unsuitable for people with mobility problems as there are narrow steps into and inside the cottage. The garden is very steep with uneven steps but with a fantastic view from the top level. There is a large decking area with seating. We loved the cottage and will definitely come back in the future. We were very happy with booking through Cornwall's Cottages. They were brilliant, very helpful staff. Thank you

Quaint house in beautiful town
This fisherman's cottage was very quaint an nicely decorated. It is very conveniently located for accessing the beautiful town of Fowey. You can't leave your car at the cottage. The nearest car parking is a good 5 min walk away and it will cost AGBP35 for weekly parking. It was a bit of a trek to daily load us and our gear in and out of the car. That aside, we had a great holiday!

Our stay at beam reach
Absolutely loved the cottage, both the location and the decor. The decking in the garden and views over fowey were spectacular. Would have like a little more garden furniture ie table and comfy chairs to take advance of the outside area but everything else was catered for. Hope to return in the near future.

Great cottage with fab views!
Lovely cottage with amazing views, nicely decorated and comfortable, ideal for a stay with 3 generations of our family. We loved the decked area at the top of the terraced garden! When we arrived the TV wasn't working but once we'd contacted the owner it was repaired on the same day. The only negatives would be that, out of 3 bathrooms, only one had a door that could be locked. Also, we had to buy hand soap, toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets during our stay ... these have always been provided in other holiday cottages we have stayed in. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Beam Reach to anyone wanting to stay in beautiful Fowey though, we had a great holiday there (and it's next door but one to the lovely Pinky Murphy's!)

Beam Reach
All round an excellent few days. The only negatives were - the cafetiere strainer needed changing as it had a kink in it which meant we could not have coffee for the whole of the break and it was quite difficult unloading luggage but the positives were many.

A lovely week in Fowey
Beam Reach is a lovely cottage, in very good condition, very warm and had all that we needed. The wifi was fast and extremely useful in helping to plan our days out. The view from the living room and the upstairs bedroom was stunning. Only a couple of minutes walk into Fowey town centre and you have many very good restaurants/pubs/bakeries to choose from and a local Mace for last minute bits and bobs - although that shuts at 7pm most days. We had a lot of success crabbing from the pontoon. It was our first time in Fowey and wont be our last, it's a wonderful little place. The only improvements that would make Beam Reach a 10/10, would be rugs in the ground floor bedrooms (very cold to step onto the floor at this time of year) and new mattresses on the single beds, as some of these seem to be made up of a couple of thinner ones and were prone to sliding off during the night. There were a few large cobwebs about, on top of the lights, the beams in the main bedroom and the velux windows but apart from that, the rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay at Beam Reach again. Thank you!

Wonderful location
Beam Reach is in a great location with lovely views of the harbour. Great base for sight seeing, very near Eden Project and Helligan. It was bright, clean and comfortable, particularly the top double room. Magical stepped garden with amazing views from top level. Only issue was that possibly the lower level terrace could look a bit more welcoming, did not feel encouraged to sit out there.

Late summer stay at Beam Reach
The house is fairly easy to find following a series of very narrow roads and the car park which we stayed in Caffa Mills was 5 mins walk away. It was fairly busy for the first few days but it was August Bank holiday so to be expected. The house has fantastic views of the river and all its coming and goings although the stairs internally and in the garden were very steep so wouldn't recommend it for the elderly or very young. The house was fully equipped with a handy utility room, open plan kitchen, comfy bedrooms and wi-fi. Two doors away is Pinky Murphys a fab little cafe with great young staff and lovely food which we visited a couple of times. In Fowey itself there are numerous restaurants and pubs all serving great food would recommend The Ship Inn, King of Prussia, The Galleon and the lovely Deli/Butchers. Ready money cove and Polkerris were lovely and further afield Port Issac and Polzeath were well worth a visit...along with Polruan a short boat ride away. All in all a great house, FANTASTIC location and very locals making a very enjoyable short break.

Beam Reach is the perfect location for a stay in Fowey.
This was our second stay in Beam Reach and I sincerely hope it won't be the last. The cottage is a five minute walk or less to the shops and numerous restaurants in the centre of Fowey, and about the same distance from the car parks at Caffa Mill in the other direction. The cottage is very well appointed and the views over the harbour from the upstairs sitting room and the en-suite bedroom above are stunning. The work in the garden wasn't finished when we were there in April 2016 but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of the gorgeous panorama from the docks on the left to Daphne du Laurier's house at Bodinnick, Polruan with the passenger ferry trundling back and forth, and off to the right the harbour mouth. So ,in case you're still wondering, yes we love Beam Reach! Rosie, John, Geraldine, Jennie, and another John.

Holiday review
We stayed for a week in Fowey and the house was in a perfect location. Even on a wet day the kids enjoyed watching the various sized boats going up and down the river. The house is spacious and has all essentials needed. Would recommend buying a weeks rover ticket as parking isn't great but we always got a space in the lower car park and didn't need to worry about rushing down to put money in the meter. This can be purchased online before visiting or from the tourist info shop in Fowey when you arrive. The view from the top of the garden is beautiful and its a shame the garden has not been up kept as its an amazing feature (or could be). Would highly recommend 'Food for thought' restaurant on the quay for delicious food and fantastic service. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Beam Reach, Fowey
A lovely cottage in a stunning location. Lots of boats to see on the river - just from the windows. Many good walks and interesting places to visit nearby. Also a great variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Disapointing garden Disappearing caretaker
Beam Reach was very well equipped and well furnished. It is in an extremely convenient location. The property would be much improved if the garden was more usable. Magnificent views of the river are to be had at the top of the garden. This could and should be a major selling point but the garden is in such awful disrepair that this top level is almost a no go area. Very disappointing. I should also add that it took 4 or 5 phone calls to an unknown person called Samantha (not the caretaker) to get keys to go into the garden. The keys were eventually delivered on sunday morning. I think Cornwalls Cottages should remove the description of the garden from their website.

Lovely atmosphere and plenty of space
We were a group of 2 adults and 3 teenagers who stayed at Beam Reach for a week. The cottage lived up to our expectations as a stylish and well designed space in which to enjoy a family holiday. Having 3 floors meant that there was a real sense of space and privacy when required, but open plan living on the middle floor really lent itself to socialising and cooking. The views were to die for, and the facilities were fantastic - plenty of (beautiful!) bathrooms and the utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer. The garden at the back was not able to be used during our stay, which was a real shame as that was one of the main reasons I booked this property. However, the cottage does have all the charm and ambience that one could wish for, and we all miss being there!! (My attempts to contact the housekeeper before and during our stay were unsuccessful, hence the poor rating for service).

The perfect holiday cottage in Fowey!
We loved Beam Reach. First impression was how spotlessly clean it was, and how well appointed. Its in the perfect situation - only a very short walk from the centre of Fowey and the shops and restaurants, and not much further in the opposite direction from Caffa Mill car park. The view from the upstairs windows is gorgeous, as one would expect from a property overlooking the harbour, and there's always something to watch. During our 7 day stay there must have been five or six comings an goings of large China clay vessels, not to mention the harbour tug striking a rock by the harbour mouth. Not good - if the tug master doesn't know where the rock are, who does! The summerhouse garden was the reason we booked Beam Reach and it didn't disappoint. Sitting in a deck chair watching the comings and goings in the harbour takes some beating! We stayed at the Marina Hotel on the Esplanade on our honeymoon in the early Seventies and have been visiting annually of late. Beam Reach will be top of our list for next year if its available!

Wonderful cottage in beautiful Fowey
We had a lovely week at Beam Reach. The cottage was spacious and excellently equipped, the garden lovely (the children loved all the different "rooms" and levels). The location, with only a few minutes walk to the very town centre was perfect, and you also had the possiblility to explore the local area through walks and ferries. We made several daytrips by car. We will definitively be back some time during the summer holidays (went during Easter hols this time) to be able to do some proper swimming, crabbing and dolphin spotting!

Lovely cottage in Fowey
Beam Reach is a lovely cottage - spotlessly clean and well equipped. It is near some good restaurants, pubs and shops, but peaceful, with lovely views over the river and quiet at night. Because the lounge is on the first floor you can see the river all the time. The garden is almost vertical - very intriguing but not for small children as the steps are very steep - older children will love it and the views from the top are very good. Beam Reach is in an extremely narrow lane and you need to take care when coming out because there is no room for traffic and people. There is nowhere to unload the car and the car park (AGBP30 for the week) is a 5-10 minute walk away. This was the only downside of the cottage. NB Service and Staff is irrelevant but I had to tick something to submit the review!

A wonderful waterside location
We had a great stay in October half term at Beam reach, the cottage was very comfortable and well furnished, although the downstairs bedrooms are a little musty. The top bedroom had glorious views, although lacked dark blinds and so was too bright too early in the morning. The garden was magnificent but a bit difficult to negotiate in the dark and wet. We had great days out walking the Hall walk, visiting St Ives and the Eden project, The shops and restaurants were less than 2 minutes away. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Good location and excellent views but beware a couple of things which need improvement.
A very comfortable stay with brilliant views. The house was well organised and clean. Would recommend that you take out a week's parking ticket instead of having to rush down to the car park to renew fees very morning before 9.00am! The garden was interesting but does need some attention, especially the lighting. It was worth the climb up to the top to sit and have coffee etc. but again, the summer house needs to be made more comfortable.

LOVELY
To stay at BEAM REACH was as lovely as the village its located in. It's has a lot of comfort, with good beds, a separate bathroom for kids and us, a fine kitchen, what else do you need to feel at home? The harbor view is nice and its close to the pubs and shops. Fowey is a small town, with lots of walking tourpossibilities, to beaches and the hills . We were very pleased to stay there. Two minor advices: put the directory on the table instead of somewhere where its hard to find! And make a shower screen in the lower bathroom, so everything stays dry!
