Barn Cottage has been lovingly restored and modernised by the owners and is a spacious well equipped property with sea views down the valley towards Crackington Haven. The home is split level with short staircases leading to the living area and master bedroom on the first floor with those cracking views and a Juliet balcony behind some French doors to maximise the view. A cosy wood burning stove will warm up those chillier days. The south facing patio garden is a sun trap during the summer and is adjoined by the village green a large field where children can run off some steam!

Rosecare is a quiet hamlet just up the valley from Crackington Haven in the parish of St Gennys, it is a beautiful walk down through the wooded valley to the beach. The Coombe Barton Inn and two cafes are situated next to the car park at the top of the beach and will cater for most tastes. Crackington beach is covered by pebbles at high tide with plenty of rock pools to be explored but as the water recedes it exposes a an expanse of golden sand which is one of the best surf spots in the county and is patrolled by lifeguards during the season. Crackington is equidistant between Widemouth Bay and Bude with a wide variety of restaurants and bars to the north and Boscastle to the south, there are majestic cliffs (Cornwall's highest) just along the coast and some fantastically intriguing rock formations that are well worth a visit!

The cottage is located 2 miles from the beach at Crackington Haven, which is included in the best surfing beaches in England and was recommended by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide. The walk down the hill is breathtaking and stunningly beautiful as you wind down through the valley. The scenery in the beach area of the surrounding majestic cliffs is almost unrivalled. At high tide, the beach is a mass of quartz-veined pebbles and large boulders but at low tide, it reveals an expanse of sand and many rock pools. Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and fantastic terrace. The cottage is located in the parish of St. Gennys, which prides itself on the excellence of its public paths with the National Trust owning most of the cliff and adjacent farmland.

As you travel down the coastline, you can visit quaint coastal villages such as Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac, the latter offering a range of fantastic restaurants where you can enjoy the freshest and most delicious fish.

Fifteen minutes up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. The watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards allows for some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities. Bude today is a lovely sea-side town, the main shopping streets and inter-connecting alleyways play host to a wide range of locally owned shops, restaurants and pubs. There are boutiques, shoes, arts & crafts, jewellery, hand-made gifts and souvenirs.

Six miles inland is Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cornwall at its wildest and rich in ancient history, Bodmin Moor stretches for 30 miles through the heart of the County of Cornwall and offers spectacular walking and horse riding. With easy access to the both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer.

Short break for 4.

Property smelt damp on entering in lobby. Bedroom upstairs very dusty you could write in dust on headboard as I did and have photo! Ensuite floor dirty. .Some of the towels smelt musty. Sofa nearest tv noisy when sat on creaky. Could do with a mirror in upstairs bedroom (to do hair) Otherwise good..

Thank you for your feedback and I'm so sorry for any shortcomings with your short break, I only wish I'd been made aware of your concerns during your stay so I could arrange for them to be rectified. I've taken note of the housekeeping issues for future reference, and will of course look into the sofa problems, although this has not been a noted issue in the past. I'll also pop a mirror in the upstairs bedroom. I've taken onboard all your comments to ensure standards are kept high for future guests and am glad the rest of your stay was good . I do hope we can welcome you back to Cornwall again shortly. Best regards, Jon.

Guest from Bundaberg stayed for 7 nights.

Fantastic property, the kitchen had absolutely everything you could want, very well kept property.

The house had a lovely feel about it, just like a home away from home, the kitchen was very well equipped. Plenty of space for everyone, we were a party of six and we were all comfortable. Walking distance to Crackington Haven. And close to lots of places to visit. Very happy with our stay

A lovely stay

We had a lovely stay in an excellent equipped cottage. The garden is not massive but there is a very big green space just outside the back garden door. The kids loved playing chase there. Bude, Tintagel and Trebarwith Strand are just a Short drive and there are more lovely beaches around. We also had a nice walk (1h) to Crackington beach. We would love to come back.

Little Cornish Oasis

Beautiful well equipped cottage close to Crackington Haven and Bude. On arrival there was a bottle of Prosecco, shortbread biscuits, and milk in the fridge. There was sufficient tea and coffee to last the week! A real home from home with everything you could need for a self catering holiday and some! The views over the countryside from the little Juliet balcony were lovely. Quite a quirky set up having the bedrooms downstairs- but better to enjoy the view. Great safety touches like the baby gates appreciated on the double stairwells and useful to have a high chair and cot available. Really wonderful to be able to take our dogs and be able to step out of the garden straight on to a huge grassed communal area shared with all the other Rosecare Farm cottages. The bedrooms were very comfortable and what a bonus to have three bathrooms. Would have loved to have known more about the history of the place and been able to write comments in a guest book - just a suggestion! Otherwise a guaranteed wonderful stay! Thank you to the owners for sharing their lovely hideaway!
