Ideal with northerly (particularly proteced), easterly or southerly winds and avoid when the wind is in the west or blowing straight into the bay. Just below the Tresanton Hotel, Tavern Beach is a little gem. Although it can get very busy during the season, it is a safe beach which is perfect for the kids. The Tresanton moor a dive platform just off the beach during the season and the water can get really clear with the right conditions. There is a big reef looking out to the right which can provide great snorkelling. This is also the best beach for watching the waterborne world go by as you can see so much of the bay. Windsurfers also congregate here when the conditions are right. No dogs in summer.
