Nestled in a sheltered cove between two popular beaches - Porthcurno and Porthgwarra - Porthchapel is a small, sandy retreat which tends to be much quieter than it’s neighbouring visitor hotspots. Access to the beach is not easy; the narrow, steep, rocky cliff path is certainly not suitable for everyone and only those who consider themselves fit and strong are recommended access. Once there, however, it is a glorious slice of paradise; if you’re lucky you might even catch sight of a seal out enjoying the south coast turquoise waters.
A cliff top car park is available but no other facilities are in place on the beach. Dogs are not allowed between Easter and the start of October.
