The Lizard is an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and has some spectacular coastal walks. It is England's most southerly point and the highlights include early Spring flowers, the Lizard lighthouse, swimming and surfing from sandy beaches, delightful fishing coves, sailing on the Helford river, heather covered moors in Autumn, open gardens and National Trust areas, pretty harbour lights at Christmas, friendly pubs and good, fresh, local food! There are loads of places to visit and highlights include Lizard Point, walks along the coastal path, a visit to Trelowarren Estate, the fascinating Goonhilly Earth Station, Flambards is great for the kids and you can step into Cornwall's mining heritage at the Poldark Mine.

There are so many activities to choose from locally. You can take a boat trip across the beautiful Helford River and explore the gardens at Trebah. There are sea fishing trips from Porthleven. There is great diving on the Manacles and coasteering is available for the really adventurous. The Lizard is home to the Cornish Chough if you like a spot of bird-watching. The coastline has many pretty coves and beaches to discover, but you can find great surf at Porthleven or Loe Bar.

Fabulous location, cottage and facilities. A little dusty and limited dog beaches post Easter.

The cottage was in a fabulous location and had a lovely layout and all of the facilities that you need. Fabulous history with the Marconi connection. Lots to see locally and the locals all proved to be very friendly. Also lots of places to eat and to get take way food within a short distance. Cleaning could be improved as there was a lot of dust, especially around the backs and sides of the sofa's/chairs. Poor TV reception. It would have been useful, as the cottage is advertised as dog friendly, to include in the description that dogs are not allowed on Poldhu Beach from 1st May, which is the beach that you can walk to from the property. We did find a few local beaches for the dogs, Gunwalloe (shingle) and Kennach Sands. Both of these have two beaches one that is dog friendly and one that has a dog ban - the dog friendly beaches were both good for off lead exercise. Mullion Cove is advertised as a dog friendly beach which it is but only on lead, no off lead. Though the dogs were welcomed in the lovely café on Mullion Cove. We will be wiser next time we go. The back garden is not fully fenced in and leads across to a field with an electric fence - stunning views from the back garden but not a place to relax with active dogs ...... Thank you for a lovely holiday, as overall it wasa fabulous base from which to explore the Lizard Peninsula and to visit family in Falmouth

Thank you so much for enjoying your stay at our property . The cleaner has been informed about the dust and is taking care of this . I do take your point on the dog friendly beaches and a list would be helpful , I will try and arrange one for guests. Regarding the rear fence its an old cornish stone wall which surrounds the whole property and if we added fencing on top it would spoil the view . Although I do understand the temptation of some dogs to explore the surrounding countryside is just to much for them . I hope this helps out and i thank you for taking the time to add constructive comments .

Beautiful cottage that needs some tlc!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location sadly though updating is required inside and outside, especially the raised patio.. decking planks loose and no handrail on difficult steps. Inside it showed that we were at the end of the season and a deep clean required throughout. More information relating to overriding the ihot water system, we regularly ran out of hot water. Also I think it remiss not to have hanging storage in the single bedrooms.

A nice relaxing place to stay with a good location

We stayed here as a family of two grandparents, two parents and a kid. Aside from a few faulty appliances, this place is fantastic. Well located near Poldhu Cove and the quaint town of Mullion. A great base for coastal hiking

Pet friendly

The cottage is set in a wonderful location and idea for dogs. Just a 10 minute walk from Poldhu Cove without having to go on the main road. Poldhu is brilliant for surfing. A car however is essential to get about. At the end of the lane is the site of the Marconi wireless station and a small museum which is worth a visit. All in all a good holiday location.

Well kept property in excellent position

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wireless Waves. Welcome cream tea left for us on arrival went down very well!. Property was well kept, had all the amenities we needed and was in an excellent position for the type of holiday we wanted. We mainly had good weather and managed lots of walking with the dog, but even in bad weather the property was very comfortable to stay in on a rainy day. Many thanks to the owner and housekeeper, hopefully we will be back.

Peaceful November at Wireless Waves

Just returned from a peaceful week at Wireless Waves, so lovely to come back to this part of Cornwall we first visited when our children were small. Off the beaten track with a lovely walk down to Poldhu Cove which has a cafe open all year serving breakfast and lunches. The accommodation is comfortable and has lovely views across to Mullion and the sea. Great garden at the back with raised decking and seating area where you can enjoy a glass of wine and gaze at the view. Each evening we had a murmur of Starlings swooping around before roosting for the night. Great to visit St Ives and Marazion again. Still lots more here to see and do.

Perfect location but dissapointed with condition of property.

we also rented wireless waves in may for 2 weeks and found since then there was a strong nasty smell coming from the kitchen and bedroom with the double bed was most unpleasant, also found that the decking outside had screws sticking out which is dangerous for small children. We found that the property had deteriorated since May.

marvellous location

Karvellous location fornwalking to two lovely beaches and ear to foorpath to Mullion - a non tourist town with all the essentials. House and playground good quality and clean. Lounge a little small foe 6, but kitchen/diner and outside eating area makes up for this. only negative is no recycling at house; also there was only one loo roll and 2 bin bags! When i rang house keeper no answer machine and no return call. So boughtour own. hamper with homemade scones were a lovely touch. Would recommend house to friends, already recommended Mullion to Lizard lovers...

Wireless Waves

Great Location with access to walks and beaches. Lovely comfortable accommodation with good facilities. I was disappointed not to find any curtains !. There was a strong smell of damp in the bedrooms when we arrived. The Wifi needed some thought and application - needs instructions on how to locate and switch on the BT box. The Shower lever is loose and often hangs down to cold and with four people the hot water went cold on a couple of occasions. I would of course return and.these issues are very minor.
