A great value Cornish stone barn conversion located just moments from the fantastic beach at Porthtowan. This barn conversion is slightly older in style than many that are available, but in return it is fantastic value and is just a great place to stay, being so convenient for not just the coast, but also for visiting further afield in Cornwall.
Located along a tarmac drive, the property is located on a quiet farm with views across the rolling countryside just inland from Porthtowan. There is a convenient patio garden immediately outside the front of the building. Inside, the barn is full of spacious rooms, from a fully fitted kitchen, good sized sitting room and 2 large bedrooms on the ground floor (although the ground floor is split level). Upstairs, there are 2 further bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Accommodation Ground Floor: Entrance into the dining area with the kitchen to one side and the sitting room to the other. The sitting room also has access onto the patio. 1 king sized double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom with beds that can be linked to provide a king sized double bed. There is a large shower room with WC. Separate WC.
First Floor: 1 double bedroom with king sized double bed and a further bedroom with a single bed and a pull out guest bed. There is a family bathroom.
Exterior: Private enclosed garden with a patio to the front including outside furniture and a BBQ.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via oil fired central heating. The kitchen has a full range of equipment. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, separate fridge & freezer, dishwasher and washer drier machine. There is a Freeview TV in the sitting room with a DVD player and iPod dock. There is an iron and ironing board.
Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are permitted at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week. Dogs are allowed downstairs only. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. There is plenty of space for up to 3 cars to park. A Cot and high chair are available but must be pre-booked.

Occupying a dramatic valley location with one of the most spectacular and beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Coast, Porthtowan has been drawing visitors for years to take advantage of its natural sun trap. A superb location for a holiday to Cornwall with a fine beach and close to good main roads means that you can easily explore the surrounding area on days that are not conducive to sitting on the beach.
Porthtowan has one of Cornwall's finest surfing waves. Producing good waves at all states of the tide, the wave is particularly good in an easterly or south easterly when it really pumps with some lovely hollow barrels. It is not for the faint hearted and beginners should be careful. An excellent surf school operates from the beach. At low tide the beach stretches down to St Agnes Head and Chapel Porth Beach where you will find a lovely National Trust Cafe full of warming hot chocolate and fabulous views. From Porthtowan you are ideally located to reach the many beaches on the North Coast famous for attracting keen surfers and beginners alike.
The property is really lovely and is well suited to two family's as the sleeping layout is very private and in two halves. The cottage has everything you could possibly want from a self catering holiday and is very traditional with a very modern clean feel to it. The location is really lovely with the cottage being approached by a long drive so away from main roads, really good for children and dogs and lovely local walks on your doorstep. The owners and all the family were very welcoming and very accommodating to our needs - not that we had many as they'd already been thought about! We would not hesitate a revisit and will be recommending the cottage to all our friends and family. Many thanks for a fab holiday and I'm sure we'll be back!
