Trevigue is steeped in history having been a farm since before the Norman Conquest and is mentioned in the Doomsday book. The farm has been tenanted from the National Trust for 40 years and extends to 200 acres. It has three miles of stunning coastline with impressive cliffs and the lovely, unspoilt Strangles beach, the haunt of smugglers in times past and more recently of the famous author, Thomas Hardy.

Trevigue Cottage is positioned to one side of the main farm and enjoys great views over the valley and rolling farmland beyond. It is a really tranquil spot to enjoy a holiday. The cottage itself is warm, welcoming and has lots of charm. It is a really comfortable place to relax and unwind after any type of day, be it a day on the beach or a blustery walk along the coast. Please note that Trevigue Cottage is only suitable for up to a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children.

The cottage is located less than a mile from Crackington Haven, which is included in the best surfing beaches in England and was recommended by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide. The scenery in the beach area of the surrounding majestic cliffs is almost unrivalled. At high tide, the beach is a mass of quartz-veined pebbles and large boulders but at low tide, it reveals an expanse of sand and many rock pools. Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and fantastic terrace.

As you travel down the coastline, you can visit quaint coastal villages such as Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac, the latter offering a range of fantastic restaurants where you can enjoy the freshest and most delicious fish.

Fifteen minutes up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. The watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards allows for some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities. Bude today is a lovely sea-side town, the main shopping streets and inter-connecting alleyways play host to a wide range of locally owned shops, restaurants and pubs. There are boutiques, shoes, arts & crafts, jewellery, hand-made gifts and souvenirs.

Six miles inland is Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cornwall at its wildest and rich in ancient history, Bodmin Moor stretches for 30 miles through the heart of the County of Cornwall and offers spectacular walking and horse riding.

With easy access to the both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer.

Trevigue Cottage

I stayed at Trevigue for 5 nights with my family and our dog. It is in the perfect location, just over the cliffs to the sea. Isolated but near enough to Bude for supermarkets, surfing beaches and just off the main roads to rest of Cornwall. The cottage itself is beautifully appointed, lots of lovely art work and fabrics. Great to have two sitting rooms to house teenagers and adults. The kitchen is large and we could all sit round the table each night for supper. We met Gayle and Henry briefly who are a lovely couple. We had great views and it was a joy to watch the cattle each day as well. I would highly recommend this cottage as a peaceful place to stay.

Trevigue Cottage

Set in splendid isolation this cottage is a truly wonderful place to escape the rat race. Set close to the coast path it is in a great location to explore the surrounding area, Boscastle, Tintagel etc. And for lovers of the night sky (Which I am) the lack of any nearby towns meant that the nights were dark and the stars glorious. It slept 8 so go with a group and enjoy! A quick word about our hosts Henry and Gayle who were just fantastic!

Trevigue Cottage

Trevigue Cottage was absolutely beautiful, I have stayed in quite a few cottages in Cornwall and this was by far the best. The cottage was so spacious, I absolutely loved the kitchen, it had everything we needed. It was such a peaceful location, really near to the coast. I was worried that the cottage would be a bit cold but it was lovely and warm, and we always had hot water. The bed was so comfortable, I slept really well. Lots of books, DVD's and games to keep everyone entertained. I loved the garden, and we had a couple of BBQ's. The view from my daughters bedroom window was stunning. The owners of the cottage were lovely. I highly recommend this cottage, and have raved about how fantastic it is to anyone that will listen.

Trevigue Cottage: a gem in an unspoilt corner of Cornwall.

A WONDERFUL location with a cottage that was well equipped and very comfortable. Grandparents, parents and grandchildren enjoyed all the amenities.A very comfortable cottage, beautifully presented ,with all the toys, books, dvds etc to keep young ones happy while adults prepared meals. We enjoyed the outdoor space and used the BBQ to cook delicious meats from the nearby Boscastle farm shop. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Crackington Haven is nearby and can be reached via the Coastal path which is within easy reach and which offers spectacular views We have recommended Trevique Cottage to our friends.

A week at Trevigue

A beautiful rural property on the rugged north Cornwall coast. Many character features, tasteful decor and very well equipped. Views across open farmland are stunning and the walk down to the Strangles beach packed with many glorious views of the shoreline (although not a walk for the faint-hearted)! Lots of attractions nearby: Crackington Haven and the sandy beaches at Bude, the ancient harbour at Boscastle and the stunning castle remains at Tintagel. All in all a great base for a wonderful holiday with family or friends.

Trevigue Cottage

We had an excellent holiday here - helped by the fantastic weather! The cottage is extremely comfortable and well set up for families, with so many toys, games and books you don't really need to take any with you. We enjoyed BBQs in the lovely garden after wonderful days on the many beaches - so many to choose from.

Loved it!

I have had a wonderful week in Trevigue Cottage. Loved the location, views, walks. 10/10 for attention to details throughout the cottage. Very welcoming, comfortable, spacious place. Loved the fact that everything was so perfectly selected for guests to feel spoiled there. Lovely family, very friendly and attentive. Great food at the restaurant. I truly felt sad to leave. Visited Boscastle, Bude, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Trebarwith Strand plus walked several times to Crackington Haven and back. Great place and location will try to return here in the future.

A great time at Trevigue

We - a family of 4 from Germany - LOVED staying at Trevigue Cottage. It was beyond excellent - although the area is breathtakingly beautiful the kids first didn´t want to leave the house. We all loved everything about it including a great evening "out" at the farm´s restaurant. 11 out of 10!
