Tintagel Holiday Cottages in Cornwall

We have a selection of lovely self catering holiday cottages in & around Tintagel in Cornwall.

The name Tintagel immediately brings to mind the legend of King Arthur. No one can be certain that this was actually the place that Uther Pendragon seduced the Queen of Cornwall. What ever the truth the coaster scenery around Tintagel is the stuff of legends. The ruins of the 12th Century Norman Castle can be visited by walking along a half mile of uneven track to Tintagel Head. There is a steep uphill climb to reach the castle. Across a bridge on Tintagel Island you will find the ruins of a Celtic Monastery. Running beneath Tintagel Island are two caves, the larger is known as Merlin's Cave.

The village of Tintagel itself has a number of potteries & galleries in addition to the many gift shops, restaurants & tea rooms. The Old Post Office is definitely worth a visit. Originally a 14th century manor house with an uneven slate roof, it has been restored by The National Trust and is one of their most attractive small buildings.
