The Lizard is an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and has some spectacular coastal walks. It is England's most southerly point and the highlights include early Spring flowers, the Lizard lighthouse, swimming and surfing from sandy beaches, delightful fishing coves, sailing on the Helford river, heather covered moors in Autumn, open gardens and National Trust areas, pretty harbour lights at Christmas, friendly pubs and good, fresh, local food! There are loads of places to visit and highlights include Lizard Point, walks along the coastal path, a visit to Trelowarren Estate, the fascinating Goonhilly Earth Station, Flambards is great for the kids and you can step into Cornwall's mining heritage at the Poldark Mine.

There are so many activities to choose from locally. You can take a boat trip across the beautiful Helford River and explore the gardens at Trebah. There are sea fishing trips from Porthleven. There is great diving on the Manacles and coasteering is available for the really adventurous. The Lizard is home to the Cornish Chough if you like a spot of bird-watching. The coastline has many pretty coves and beaches to discover, but you can find great surf at Porthleven or Loe Bar.

A lovely place to stay

This is an excellent flat above the printers in Mullion. First impressions outside it looked a bit scruffy as the shop below is for sale and needs a spot of new paint. However, once inside the flat it is a lovely bright and spacious open plan kitchen/lounge. There are excellent leather chairs that provide comfort and style and the room has large windows to all aspects that make the space bright and airy. The kitchen is clean and very well equipped with ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, tumble dryer and washing machine, all in good working order. Although we had a minor problem with the dishwasher, Lawrence came straight round and rectified this. When you arrive there are beautiful fresh scones with jam and clotted cream waiting for you, which was most welcome after our long journey. The owners have given real thought to what you might need and there is even a clothes airer, which was very useful. The bedrooms are quite small but manageable. The bathroom is clean and has an electric shower over the bath. The shower is adequate and the shower head is not clogged, as often found in hotels. I would highly recommend this flat and although there is no outside space you feel in touch with the outside as it is so light and airy. The location is great, with a Spar opposite for all your essentials and a pretty town with a great pub, The Old Inn, that served excellent food. Mullion is within easy reach of lots of great places to visit.

A relaxing stay at The Treasure Box

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at The Treasure Box. We were greeted with a lovely cream tea, beautiful flowers and all the 'little extras'. The apartment was spotlessly clean, very light and airy, and very well equipped. The location was great, right in the centre of the village opposite a very well stocked Spar shop. It was not however noisy. We had a curry from The Cornish Curry Company one evening and would recommend it! Our takeaway was delicious and enjoyed by all! The location of the flat was brilliant for walking and exploring the coastal paths and we barely used the car. I would definitely recommend staying here. It is a real gem and we absolutely loved it.

Very pleasant stay.

The flat was beautifully clean and tidy, with a well-equipped kitchen. The living area is very comfortable and the WIFI is a bonus. Although it is situated on the village main street, the flat is very quiet at night. We were welcomed by a cream tea (with clotted cream and strawberry jam). Two nights out of three we could park the car right outside the door.

Great location

This small but well appointed apartment is in an excellent location in the centre of the village, opposite the main village shop and a few yards from the pubs and bus stops. The open plan kitchen / diner / living room is fairly compact, but the kitchen is well equipped, including dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The only drawback was the awkward arrangement of the twin beds in the second bedroom, which is L-shaped. Overall, this was a good choice and we enjoyed our stay.

A hidden gem

Finding Lawrence&Becky's place was a true surprise: the house is lovely and very welcoming and they are wonderful hosts. And if you're not sure what to visit in Cornwall, they'll give you great advices and you'll have wonderful memories of your trip. Our only regret was that we didn't have enough time to see everything, so that means we'll have to go back, and of course we'll contact them :) It is truly a hidden gem!

Great place in a great location!

We visited the property during September, the accommodation was exactly as described in a central village location. The photos were exactly as the property was. We were greeted with cream tea which was greatly appreciated after a long drive, the property was clean and well presented, with every bit of equipment you could need on a holiday... The location was ideal for exploring the county with the lizard and lands end a short drive away. The harbour at Mullion cove was lovely as was the beach in the next cove along, where we even ventured in to the sea (in late September!). We will certainly be back again next year.. thanks for the great time (and also weather)

We have visited Mullion three years in a row. The first two at the parkdean park. We wanted a change of accommodation and the treasure box was a better choice by far. Strongly recommend. our last minute break at the treasure boxin Mullion was amazing!

We decided to book our trip last minute and was very impressed with the level of service from firstly 'Cornwalls Cottages' and then the owners themselves. All the necessary information was sent asap along with a couple of telephone calls to confirm everything was in place and clear for our arrival at the treasure box. The apartment is in the most wonderful location with so many beautiful walks and beaches within 10 - 15 mins walk. Stunning scenery all around. Apartment spotlessly clean, modern, extremely comfortable and so well equipped with everything you could possible need for your holiday. The village has a friendly convenience store opposite, two pubs, small cafe and restaurant. There's an excellent 'Cornish Currys' service two or three times a week offering tasty homemade food too. Great location for exploring the scenic Lizard area and Falmouth and Truro are within easy driving distance along with the excellent St Ives town and many other lovely cornish fishing villages, secret coves and remote beaches. We truely had the most relaxing holiday in fantastic surroundings and would definitely love to go back again. Thank you to Lawrence and Becki.

Nice holiday let, good location

The flat was clean and comfortable with a good location in the centre of Mullion. The owners were very helpful. The only dining table is a breakfast bar which may not suit everyone but was fine for us.Parking is in the car park five minutes walk away, sometimes a pain if you have a lot to carry back, but we normally found a nearer space to unload if we needed it. Overall, I would recommend it.
