The Nook is situated right on the Cornish Coastal Footpath, approximately 2 miles from the historic wreckers’ town of Bude on Northcott Bay, a west facing beach much loved by local surfers. The beach has large rounded stones at the top but, as the tide retreats, it reveals acres of soft sand. The property is surrounded by a wooden fence to ensure privacy, has a sundeck and barbeque and is equipped with garden furniture. What could be better than sitting on the sundeck watching a stunning sunset over the beach with a glass of wine in hand and a feast cooking on the barbeque?

The Nook is situated on Northcott Mouth and is approximately a 5 minute drive north of Bude. Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches of is quite beautiful, boasting some of the finest sandy beaches and the best surfing in England! The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops. This idyllic area has a large amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful, scenic walks along the South West coastal path.
The centre of Bude is a lively hub with concerts, dances and fetes as well as other events throughout the season, including an annual Carnival Week. The town has a host of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every palate and there is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children's play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August.
Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartlandwith its very own shipwreck! Also well worth a visit is the world famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port.
| Just had an excellent week at The Nook. Weather not the best but surroundings and walking made up for it. Cottage very well appointed with everything you would need including ice machine for that cider! Thanks for a great stay! We will be back! |

We did enjoy our stay and the arrangements and maps were very useful. It is a really special location and a massive sell to lovers of beaches and coastal path walkers. While rustic the cottage did not deliver on all fronts: heating system was erratic and we could not get the fridge to cool. We would love to revisit the area. |
