Reevescott Retreat is a spectacular plot with stunning views towards Tintagel headland and the Sisters Rocks where you can watch the crashing Atlantic surf beating against this historic promontory. The property itself is an annex of the owners building next door and benefits from its own private terrace. There are few spots where watching the sunset with a glass of wine could be more relaxing! The interior is beautifully presented making the most of the wonderful views from both the main living area and also from the bedroom upstairs.

Perched on the hill above St Nectans Glen, a picturesque valley and waterfall that cascades down towards the sea, Tethevy is perfectly positioned to explore the north coast of Cornwall. Tintagel is 2 miles to the west where there are a range of shops, pubs and cafes, not to mention the ruins of Tintagel castle with all of its Arthurian mystery and truly magnificent scenery. Boscastle, scene of the devastating floods of August 2004 is once again a traditional fishing village and the dedication of the local hospitality businesses to rebuild after 2004 means there are now a plethora of good hotels and restaurants.

Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian’ this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall.

Boscastle is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. There is a pottery in the village and several gift shops. A footpath to the left of the quayside will take you to the 'Lookout' which is a wonderful vantage point from which to view the rugged coastline. Boscastle was once a favourite meeting place of the author Thomas Hardy, and is the location for one of his novels 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour as far as Long Island, where during the breeding season you may see razorbills, puffins & guillemots. There is a demanding 7 mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. There are several attractions along this stretch of coast including Strangles beach at the bottom of a large landslip with a rock arch the Northern Door. Just south of here is High Cliff which is the highest point on the Cornish coast path. Don't forget to visit Pentargon inlet which has an imposing waterfall that cascades down to the sea below.

On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. Camelford is a great centre for touring, walking, fishing, swimming or surfing holidays. The town is steeped in history and has excellent shopping and sporting facilities. Port Isaac is the location of the televisions series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Steins famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston is the capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches.

We had a lovely time!

Sarah & Paul are very friendly and welcoming. There were scones and doggie treats waiting for us in the cottage. Everything was super clean and the cottage is just lovely, we loved all the details and the modern kitchen and bathroom. The views are fantastic! The location is great to explore Boscastle, Tintagel, etc. We would love to come back, maybe when the weather is a bit better! ;)

Ideal location for North Cornwall

We found Reevescott Retreat to be the ideal location for exploring the North Cornwall Coast. The owners Paul and Sarah had obviously gone the extra mile with the presentation and preparation of the house, attention to detail and cleanliness. The standard of finish in the property was very good with modern equipment, a comprehensive inventory and convenient parking. The rear terrace which we were able to use this late in the year has a lovely view out over fields and beyond to Tintagel and the sea with unforgettable sunsets. We have stayed at numerous properties on holiday in Cornwall, this one ticks all the boxes. Thank you Paul, Sarah and Cornwalls Cottages for a memorable week. Pamela, Robert & Bobby the Westie

Another fantastic holiday

We stayed at Reevescott Retreat in June this year and loved it so much we booked again for October during the week of our wedding anniversary. Sarah and Paul are the perfect hosts; friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. As usual there were scones with cream and jam to welcome us and milk in fridge. The Retreat is beautifully decorated and so well equipped it like home from home. The view across fields to the sea is stunning. The location is peaceful and just a few minutes from both Tintagel and Boscastle. There are so many places to visit and St Nectan`s Glen which within walking distance is a must. We love Reevescott Retreat so much we have booked again for next year.

Perfect in every way!

We had an amazing week at Reevescott Retreat. Sarah and Paul are wonderful hosts, and when we arrived we were greeted by a very welcome Cornish Cream Tea in the kitchen and a lovely welcome message. The location is simply fantastic, with the view from the lounge and bedroom overlooking the beautiful Rocky Valley and out to sea. The sunsets are amazing. The annexe is modern, very clean, has everything you would need and is also very comfortable and cosy. It was a joy to come back to every day after being out exploring. Paul & Sarah are so friendly, and around if you need them, especially lucky as a sparrowhawk stunned itself on the glass patio balustrade just as we were about to leave! Thank you Paul & Sarah for a lovely week in your wonderful retreat, we hope to be back! Nick & Candice

The perfect retreat

The on-site owners, Sarah and Paul, were most welcoming and helpful during our stay. The apartment with a super sea view is top class in every way. Just far enough away from the tourist hotspots; an ideal base for walking the coast.

Everything provided for a really good holiday.

We thought the location, View and accommodation were very good. The Hosts of the property who lived next door were a lovely couple and provided everything that was needed and more. Upon arrival we found 4 jam/cream scones and milk tea and coffee provided for us. A nice touch was a lovely vase of flowers. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend - and indeed have already done so.

Back in Beautiful Cornwall

After many years back in beautiful North Cornwall. We have stayed in Trethevy near Reevescott for several years and it felt so good to be back. Reevescott Retreat is a well equipped, lovely and cosy annex/cottage with fantastic views and the hosts were so hospitable and helpful. For us, Reevescott Retreat is the best place to stay in Cornwall. Thanks again Sarah and Paul.
