We have a selection of lovely self catering holiday cottages in & around Port Isaac in Cornwall.
Port Isaac, tucked away on the North Coast between Padstow and Boscatle, has recently been home to the television series 'Doc Martin' with Martin Clunes. Although previous years have seen the series Poldark film here and in nearby Port Quinn. Much of the village is 18th and 19th century there are some fascinating narrow streets and alleyways to explore. As with many places in Cornwall, once having relied heavily on fishing and fish processing, the village now caters for many visitors with plenty of shops and eateries for the frequent visitors.Port Quinn has twice suffered tragedy resulting in the village being abandoned. Once when all the men were lost at sea and another when the Pilchards left the area. Now Port Quinn is mainly owned by the National Trust and is a quiet village with no shops or tea rooms. Polzeath is 4 miles away and one of the best surfing beaches before you reach Widemouth Bay and Bude further up the coast. Port Gaverne, round the corner, offers a lovely secluded sandy beach with great rock pools to explore. From Port Isaac you can take in the views or walk the coastal footpath in either direction.
