Pentewan, five minutes up the road from Mevagissey, is a delightful little village by the sea, is mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1806. The one time China Clay harbour is now filled with fresh water, set back from the sea. The village has not had a working harbour for 60 years but evidence can be clearly seen scattered around of it's mining heritage.
