The National Lobster Hatchery neighbours Rick Steins empire in Padstow.
The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, opened each year by a member of the Royal Family. Cornish Farmers have had to diversify in recent years and show has the show, but they have kept their traditional roots with steam engines being shown next to the shiny new high-tech tractors. It's not every day you get to see formation JCB digger dancing in the main ring. The National Trust have three properties nearby, Lanhydrock House, Trerice and Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps. Stay in Cornwall

The cottage was superb and well located for us to visit lots of Cornwall. Only issue we had all week was the very narrow lanes to get to the property, having to reverse in to passing places . Thankfully the road was very quiet, even in this peak period, so not a huge problem.

Review

We enjoyed our week in Pell Allema. We did think this property was a little too remote for us as everywhere was a 20 min drive to shops and pubs etc.... We did nearly 800 miles in one week getting out and about. Had to keep taking car into Padstow for evening meals etc each time paying excessive parking fees!!! Parking fees everywhere. Nicely furnshed and comfortable cottage. Lovely artwork decorated the walls. Welcome hamper nice touch. Very well equipped if you want to cook indoors. Couldn't find barbecue but weather not conjusive to a barbie. Small outside space not really suitable for small families and those wanting to eat outside. Couldn't get TV upstairs to work. Would benefit from a new settee in the lounge as cushions kept coming forward and coming off. Nice library of books that we used. All in all nice property but you need to be wanting a quiet remote holiday home.

Beautiful Clean and Comfortable Cottage

This is a hidden gem of a cottage. It is a recently renovated converted barn situated in the small, peaceful, friendly village of Rosenannon, about a 10 minute drive from Wadebridge or 15-20 minutes from Padstow. Inside it has modern high spec facilities, including a newly fitted kitchen (with a new electric oven, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher), 2 electric showers, 2 televisions, modern heating, comfy beds, and lots of interesting art work. Mixed with the stylish contemporary décor is the original character of the barn building. The owner of the cottage, John, is very friendly and left us an extremely generous hamper filled with local produce on our arrival. We took a new born baby and a 3 year old, and it was suitable for both. The interior is spacious and there is plenty of room for children to play with their toys. Although small, the garden has a fish pond and a raised terrace which gets the sun. There is plenty of room for parking cars. All in all, a beautiful cottage in a great location, and it came at a very good price. I would definitely recommend this cottage, and would stay there again.

Guest from Manchester stayed for 7 nights.

Our first stay at Pell Allema

Really spacious, clean with excellent facilities in the cottage. It was every bit as good as the website suggested and a fantastic place to come back to after a long day at the beach. The welcome pack provided by owner John was a real treat and made us feel straight away, that this was a place that cared about it's guests. Owner John was extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing would be too much trouble for him should you need it. Excellent parking position right outside the property and for us the location was perfect. Will definitely be booking again in the future.
