Hayle is dominated by the spectacular 3 miles of golden sands that stretch north towards Gwithian Towans and Godrevy Lighthouse. A quite stunning beach that offers opportunities for sunbathing and surfing. When the wind is blowing, watch out for the windsurfers, particularly in the waves at the northern end of the beach. This is one of the best windsurfing spots in the country. Paradise Park is always popular with both adults and children with their fantastic collection of rare birds and animals. There is also a good indoor play area if the weather gets bad! St Ives, once a busy fishing village, now relies on tourism as its main industry. Turner came and painted a landscape in 1811 and art has played a part in St Ives history ever since. More recently Barbara Hepworth and the Tate Gallery have put St Ives on the modern map. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden is an amazing place to visit, and well worth it even if you're not a budding artist. Trewyn Studios where she lived and worked from 1939 until her tragic death in 1975 has been turned into a fantastic museum, depicting many of her favourite sculptures in the sub tropical garden, is now managed by the Tate. The Tate Gallery St Ives was built in 1993 on the former gas works site displaying various paintings, sculptures and ceramics.
From Penzance you can take the Scillonian for a day trip to the picturesque Isles of Scilly, well worth a visit if you have never been. 10 minutes down the road lies Marazion famous for St Michaels Mount, home to a medieval castle and a working local community. St Michaels Mount is accessible by causeway at low tides, or by boat. The castle is leased from the National Trust by the St Aubyn family who reside at the property maintaining and working the grounds. Penzance has a brilliant selection of supermarkets.

Lovely people; very quiet at night; convenient location. But beware all the fruit flies in July! Otherwise a good place for a couple.
Guest from Southampton stayed for 7 nights.
I highly recommend this property. It is in a central location a short distance from the north, south and far west coasts, so easy to get to a lot of places quickly. The property is light, airy and comfortable with lovely views and all you need for your stay. The owners live next door and are happy to help with anything you might need. They also provide a lovely cream tea on arrival. If you wish to visit the bottom of Cornwall and have easy access to St Ives, The Lizard, Lands End, Falmouth, St Michaels Mount and Penzance this property is ideal, although you will need a car.

Great location to explore the South West tip of Cornwall. Orchard view offers a tranquil retreat from the tourist hussle and bussle whilst being in easy reach of the very same. The accomodation was lovely and clean, with beautiful views across the valley and the Orchard. The kitchen was extremely well equipped (it had more gadgets than my own). We were very lucky with weather and made the most of the outside terrace. Thank you Marilyn for such a warm welcome!

We had a very relaxing week at Orchard View. It is in a superb location within the welcoming owners large garden and orchard, yet is not overlooked, it has magnificent views from the lounge and bedroom over the orchard and surrounding countryside, is very spacious and well equipped. In a very quiet immediate location it is within very easy access, on good roads, of both coasts. Hayle, St Ives, Porthleven and Marazion all 15 minutes or so away. With poor weather during the week we really enjoyed the comfort of the cottage, it's very large tv and excellent internet reception.

Spacious bungalow in peaceful location, car essential: no pubs or shops in easy walking distance. Perfect for a couple exploring southern Cornwall or just chilling.
Guest from Gateshead stayed for 7 nights.
lovely quiet place, spacious cottage. Lovely to sit on the balcony and listen to the woodpecker and to watch the birds bouncing round the orchard. The owners were friendly without fuss, and - with the possible exception of some coathooks by the door - had provided everything I needed. The location is handy for lots of good walking, gardens, beaches and both touristy and quiet areas - but be prepared for narrow, bendy roads and tight turns!

Set 2 miles from Leedstown and pretty much in the middle of Western Cornwall Orchard View is a lovely cottage. It is comfortably fitted out, has great wifi and a huge television. The kitchen is well equipped although short on good knives. If you are going to cook bring one of your own knives. The bed was super comfortable. The setting was idyllic. Our hosts were helpful when we needed them to be and left us to it otherwise. We really enjoyed our stay.
Guest from Norwood stayed for 14 nights.
We found Orchard View a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. It made a very good base for visiting many places in south Cornwall. The bed was very comfortable as were the arm chair and settee - both very important for our backs.
Guest from Gainsborough stayed for 7 nights.
Orchard view cottage was absolutely amazing ,set in beautiful peaceful grounds and yet was only a 20 min drive to places like St Ives, and many more popular places very close by, truly a home from home cottage ,The cottage was immaculate and had a fully equipped kitchen, We was greeted with lovely homemade jam and scones which was very much appreciated .Marilyn and Mike were lovely hosts and really went the extra mile to help us settle in to the cottage without been intrusive. We would definitely be recommending the location and the cottage to our friends and family and will be coming again next year. The weather was amazing all week and we slept so well in the comfy bed , up early ready for exciting day ahead This truly was a five star place in every way.
Guest from BELGIUM stayed for 14 nights.
When we arrived we were very warmly welcomed by Marilyn , with home-baked scones , clotted cream , tea and marmalade (!), a real treat ! We had a fantastic stay ,and due to the perfect location we never had to drive far .The cottage is really lovely , everything you want and need on a holiday and more. We love to cook , great kitchen ! WIFI and big flatscreen TV / DVD are a bonus . Cornwall is really worth the trip , beautiful beaches , walks along the coastal paths , interesting and child -friendly musea ( Helston museum , Geevor Tin mine , Maritime Museum Falmouth and the Screeching Owl Sanctuary !) The Scilly isles are beautiful , and even more when the weather is nice I think.Praa Sands is very nice -also the Beachcombers Café - , a visit to the Lizard Lighthouse and a walk along the coastal path and surrounding clifs is top . We didn't enjoy Lands End and St Ives , overcrowded , even on a very rainy day !

Very comfortable and spacious airy home. A lovely cream tea awaits your arrival. All the facilities you need with masses of storage in bedroom, very comfortable king-size bed. Quality fitments and huge tv. Lovely sunsets from the balcony and view over the orchard garden and hills beyond. Owners house in same plot but they are very welcoming and happy for you to explore and enjoy their three ponds with fish. You can even use their enormous BBQ hut if you so wish. We found it a great quiet location but still easy to get onto the main roads to explore. Falmouth, Lands End, St Ives are easily accessible. St.Michael's Mount nearby and Godolphin (National Trust) is just down the road. (If you go, have the behind the scenes tour with Tony. It's nearly 2 hours but Tony is so funny, entertaining and knowledgeable about the site that time flies. Best tour ever!) We had a great week here and would recommend highly.

Lovely place to stay peace and quiet and the location was great not far from anywhere on either coast. Marilyn and Mike were great hosts nothing was too much trouble and enjoyed their company. We will be returning next year.

Wonderful peaceful location to come back to after a days exploring. Incredibly clean property with lovely views down the orchard and over the hills. Very pleasant and accommodating owners. Would recommend and visit again..

We found the cottage to be in an ideal location for visiting everywhere in the 'toe' of England. Our hosts were most welcoming and friendly and it was always a joy and a comfort to return to the cottage after a day's visiting of sites and beauty spots.
Guest from Chipping Sodbury stayed for 7 nights.
Pleasant surroundings, very peaceful, owners next door if needed. The only downside was the narrowness of the lane made reversing into the parking area awkward.
Guest from Eastleigh stayed for 3 nights.
We were stayed in the cottage during the long weekend Easter Break in 2016. The first day when we tried to find the place, we were lost for 5 min. So using GPS with the postcode is not the best method. The instruction to find the cottage provided by the owner is better. First 1-2 days are very good. However on the 3rd day night, the hot water supply for shower and the central heating failed. We can't find the owner (next door) and the phone coverage is poor in the cottage area. Luckily we leave on the 4th day and therefore did not bother too much. Instead, we put another layer of jumper on when we were in the cottage to keep us warm. The temperature of the room at that time was 17-18C.

Orchard Cottage is the perfect property for a really relaxing holiday, which we were in need of after a spell of health problems. We have regularly rented self catering cottages in Cornwall for many years, ideally with a sea view, which this cottage does not have, but in every other respect it is just about the best we have stayed in. It is very well furnished and equipped, and for a cottage sleeping two it is very roomy. The surrounding area is delightful and ideal for short interesting walks but, perhaps the biggest bonus for my wife and I was our hosts. Mike, a mine of information, get him onto Naval History, and Marilyn, making sure that everything was in order and that we enjoyed our holiday. To sum up, within a couple of days we felt thoroughly at home and amongst friends and had a superb, restful holiday. We would recommend this property. Jack and Pat. Droitwich.

Welcomed with scones.jam and clotted cream along with fresh flowers and a welcome card. Very comfortable accommodation, lovely shower in bathroom. Well equipped kitchen and BBQ outside. Veranda provides a tranquil sitting area to watch sunset over the orchard. Positioned well for visiting South Cornwall. We walked the coastal path from Lands End to St Ives over a few days. Sennen Cove is a beautiful beach. The Tate, Barbara Hepworth Garden,Telegraph Museum at Porthcurno is a must. Marlin and Mike were good hosts.

Great access to all of the 'toe' of Cornwall, yet tucked away in a peaceful valley. We loved the cottage and it was very well equipped.Great for those who like to be tucked away from all the bustle of the touristy areas..

If you are a couple, and want peace and solitude, then look no further than this property. I don't think you will find a better cottage that will give you access to the South West area of Cornwall than this. You are never far from the south or west coast, all within 15 minutes drive. The view from the balcony makes renting this cottage alone worthwhile, and Mrs. Bow the owner, makes you more than welcome. I cannot praise this cottage enough, and most certainly will holiday there again in the near future.
