Little Owl is a completely new one bedroom barn conversion on the superb Bejowan Barns development about 2 miles from the spectacular golden sands at Porth Beach just outside of Newquay on Cornwall's Atlantic coast.
Constructed during 2010, this excellent conversion offers very comfortable accommodation for a couple and up to one cot.
It is in an extremely central location in Cornwall within a few miles of the A30 which means that even places like St Michaels Mount are within a 45 minute drive.
All the superb facilities of Newquay are on your doorstep including the magnificent surfing beaches, great restaurants including Jamie Oliver's Fifteen at Watergate Bay and some dramatic walks along some of the finest coastline in the British Isles.
The conversion has been finished to high standards with an open plan kitchen / diner and lounge area.
There are french windows looking out across beautiful countryside.
There is a good sized double bedroom with a beautiful limestone tiled en-suite bathroom.
Outside, there is a private patio area where you can enjoy the relaxing valley views.
Accommodation Ground Floor Only: Open plan kitchen / dining room / lounge. Double bedroom with 5' double bed and en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower.
Exterior: The patio has outdoor furniture and BBQ facilities as well as valley views.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via gas central heating. The kitchen has a full range of equipment. There is an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge / freezer, dishwasher & washing machine. The lounge area has a flatscreen digital TV & DVD player. There is an iron & ironing board.
Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is a dedicated car parking space for the barn. Up to 2 well behaved dog will be permitted at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. There is a cot & high chair available upon request.
General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally a Saturday, although this is flexible in the winter. Shortbreaks are available during quieter periods.
£100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
These days Newquay's excellent surfing waters are the town's main industry, where as it once used to be a major export port for counties mining efforts as well as a north coast port for pilchard fisheries. Fistral Beach holds many surfing competitions throughout the year, and also hosts Run to the Sun over May Bank holiday, a VW and Custom Car Show. Both the Womens and Mens Gig Championships are held here, as a balloon festival and surf and lifesaving events. Newquay Zoo now houses 130 different species in sub tropical gardens in the centre of the town.
Neighbouring Watergate Bay (5 miles from Quintrell Downs) and The Extreme Academy offers you a 'ski resort on a beach' and a plethora of activities to keep even the most active occupied. Fifteen Cornwall, founded by Jamie Oliver in 2002 sits on top of the two mile beach at Watergate offering inspirational views for the young chefs and professionals to create fantastic menus from local and seasonal produce. The Lappa Valley Steam Railway just outside Newquay offers both the old and young an interesting day out. Newquay Airport has made the north coast one of the easiest places in Cornwall to get to, with regular flights from various locations across the UK. The town also has an Aquarium, a Waterworld and numerous immensely pretty beaches for the less active. Trerice run by the National Trust is 3 miles outside of the town is an Elizabethan Manor House and Garden with restricted winter opening times.
I stayed at Little Owl and it was a very lovely time. The cottage was very clean and very well equipped. Also, the owners were always nice, lovely and always helpful in every way. I will definitely return to the Bejowan Cottages.

We were thrilled with our stay at Little Owl- it was perfect for the two of us: comfortable, well appointed & well equipped. We have spent many holidays in French self catering cottages but this really beats the best of them. It was a lovely touch to be welcomed with milk, juice & biscuits. The owner was really helpful [and Stanley the dog entertaining]: we appreciated his gift of freshly laid eggs. We will return!
