The farm is located one mile from Crackington Haven, which is included in the best surfing beaches in England and was recommended by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide.

The scenery down at the beach with its surrounding majestic cliffs is almost unrivalled. At high tide, the beach is a mass of quartz-veined pebbles and large boulders but at low tide, it reveals an expanse of sand and many rock pools. Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and fantastic terrace. As you travel down the coastline, you can visit quaint coastal villages such as Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac, the latter offering a range of fantastic restaurants where you can enjoy the freshest and most delicious fish.

Fifteen minutes up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. The watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards allows for some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities. Bude today is a lovely sea-side town, the main shopping streets and inter-connecting alleyways play host to a wide range of locally owned shops, restaurants and pubs. There are boutiques, shoes, arts & crafts, jewellery, hand-made gifts and souvenirs.

Six miles inland is Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cornwall at its wildest and rich in ancient history, Bodmin Moor stretches for 30 miles through the heart of the County of Cornwall and offers spectacular walking and horse riding. With easy access to the both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer.

Beautiful old Farmhouse

Hallagather farmhouse is beautiful and has lots of space for a big family. The kitchen is superb, and we loved experimentally cooking with the AGA. The house needs some tlc in places and a bit more explanation on the heating would be helpful, also some matches on arrival would be handy to light a fire when it's cold, but we sorted ourselves out the next day. Heated blankets on beds are lovely and make it nice and cosy at bed time. A quick mention on low doorways would be helpful, my husband is 6'3"! All in all a good break by the sea.

Huge and secluded

What a beautiful huge historical house. Totally off the beaten track this house in certainly big enough for all the family. Lovely touches like a hot aga, play room with a few toys which was perfect for us with young twins, loads of bathrooms. Just 5 minutes from a small beautiful beach with a great pub serving lovely food and fantastic relaxed atmosphere. I would certainly love to return. Only thing that let it down for us was the tv in the main room but hey we were with family so we talked to Each other for a change! Great place can't recommend it highly enough

Size and location

This was a very large farmhouse easily sleeps 11. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was huge and well equipped. The garden was very peaceful and the BBQ a welcome bonus. Only one problem, some of the mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable. We had a brilliant family holiday here and i would definitely recommend it.

Nice holliday with many space

We spend a week in Hallagather Farmhouse and had a quite cozy time. We were two families with four children and had lots of space in the house. There are many books and toys for the whole family, so even when the weather is too bad to go out you have a lot of entertainment. Also there are two TVs, an Amazon Fire-Stick and an a bluetooth radio to entertain yourself. The equipment of the kitchen was perfect for breakfast and dinner. We found everything we needed. The bedrooms are on the first floor an they are clean and pretty. The location is very quiet. The farmhouse is surrounded by horse and cow pastures. You can walk in half an hour to the beach in Crackington Haven where you can find a pub with very good food. The nearest shop is within walking distance of a few minutes. All information is prepared in a little folder by the householders, Jake and Becky, who by the way are very kind and nice. Even if you cut the internet connection accidentally :-) We can totaly recommend this house to everyone who likes holidays on the country.
