Looking down into the lovely traditional old harbour of Mevagissey with fabulous views of the historic fishing village and out to sea, Ferryman’s Cottage is located up a short path leading directly from the quay. This cosy cottage has been beautifully restored and furnished to a high standard. It has some unique features including a very narrow stairway and is one of the prettiest and best situated properties in the village.
The accommodation consists of one double bedroom, upper sitting area, bathroom, kitchen and sitting room with wood burning stove. Parking is included on the further side of the harbour about 5 minutes walk away (luggage can be unloaded on the quay just below the cottage).
Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in South East Cornwall. Ideally located within easy reach of both The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Once a major Pilchard port, now the harbour boasts a smaller fleet, many of which provide sea tours, or boat trips to Fowey situated further up the South coast. The Harbour provides an ideal back drop for a fish and chip supper, followed by a stroll through the town at dusk.
With a 8 minute drive to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and 30 minutes to the Eden Project, Mevagissey provides a excellent location for the keen gardener. Gorran Haven nearby offers an alternative day out as well as Pentewan with its fresh water dock basin. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay.
| Perfect cottage with the most fabulous views. We could not have chosen a better spot for our celebration. |

| We had a
lovely week – more sunshine than showers and managed to get a bit sun tanned, not bad for April. The cottage is lovely and we had a great time watching the boats, the birds and the ginger cat. |

| The whole holiday was stress free from the moment we arrived. Lovely on the outside, very nice, clean and well maintained on the inside. Everything you need and more was there with an added plus, a wood burning stove: great for sitting around on a cold night and then up to a cosy bed. We shall definitely come back. |

| We absolutely love Mevagissey and all its character, shops, pubs and tiny roads. This is a real Cornish working harbour and it's a dream. The cottage is perfectly placed with an amazing view. It has been a true home from home and we enjoyed every minute! |

| A cosy, warm place to stay in the winter: a place full of charm in a great location, made for a great week in Mevagissey. We stayed in more due to how nice it felt on an evening. |

| We had a wonderful time in your lovely little cottage.
Pretty views over the harbour and so quiet.
There were some interesting gift shops, great bakery and we enjoyed two evenings in the Ship and the Fountain.
The cottage is small but that made it feel very cosy and it's perfect for 2 people.
Good walks on the doorstep and Eden project not too far - we went there on Boxing Day. |

| This is an excellent little cottage which met my needs as a single traveller very well indeed.
The location is great and far enough from the centre of the village to avoid the noise.
I liked the layout, which suited me well.
I felt very comfortable there.
I had a great week and will certainly consider staying here again. |

| Really enjoyed our November Mevagissey experience. Idyllic spot. We enjoyed watching the activity of the harbour from the warmth and comfort of our sofa by the woodburner ! We were very pleased we chose Ferryman's Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to return at a similar time of year and do it all over again. Fantastic base for coastal walks and visiting other local attractions. |

| We greatly enjoyed our week here and would recommend it to others. The view was spectacular, the little outside bench a joy to sit on in the warm autumn sunshine. We particularly enjoyed being able to walk to Heligan - a real pleasure to abandon the car. |
| Mr & Mrs Braithwaite, Oct 2011 |
| We have had a wonderful holiday. Ferryman's Cottage is fantastically situated with spectacular views, minutes away from the hustle and bustle yet lovely and quiet. Fabulous walks so close - not to mention the great ferry ride. We hardy needed the car. |

| An all round relaxing break and we would recommend a stay here. |
| The Roberts, Midlands, Aug 2011 |
| We have had the most wonderful week, even with the inclement weather. The cottage has served as a second home for us and a perfect base to venture far and wide. We hope to return soon. Thank you John and Vicky. |

| Just to let you know what a wonderful few days we have had. The cottage is a little gem. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Thanks again. |

| We found Ferryman's Cottage very cosy and clean.
We would recommend it without reservation.
p.s. sitting outside on the bench in the sunshine, looking at the boats in the harbour is very enjoyable. |
