Ermintrude Cottage has been skilfully converted by the Owners from an old farm building into a beautiful 2 bedroom holiday home and is new to the market for 2015. The attention to detail at this lovely holiday cottage is outstanding and you will feel straight at home in this relaxing and peaceful location. The cottage has the benefit of a good sized kitchen with a comfortable sitting area and also the addition of a separate living room. The property is easily accessed from the parking area and with the exception of the small second floor attic bedroom, is all on one level and so can be particularly enjoyed by those who do not enjoy steps or steep inclines. The cottage is also very dog friendly with a great enclosed garden and some fabulous dog walking country nearby.
The location in St Ewe is just ideal for those looking to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey, the Roseland Peninsula or the Eden Project, which is just a short drive away in St Austell. The nearby coastline is stunning and the coastal footpath around the Dodman Point in particular is spectacular. There are also some delightful beaches nearby including Pentewan, Gorran Haven and Porthluney Cove near Caerhays Castle. Lobbs Farm Shop at Heligan also provides excellent local produce.
Ground Floor: Entrance through to lobby with entrance to kitchen / living room. Separate entrance from lobby through to day room with lovely comfortable furniture and is a great spot to sit and enjoy the view onto the garden. One of the sofas converts into a sofa bed. Master bedroom, luxuriously appointed with a super 6' zip & link bed that can be split into two single beds upon request, with an en-suite bathroom with bath and handheld shower attachment. Followed by a family shower room with WC.
First Floor: A small twin bedroom, converted from the attic space, is accessed via the stairs and has quite restrictive headroom. It is absolutely ideal for children, slightly cosy for adults, but not uncomfortable. It can be made as a double or twin room on request.
Exterior: An enclosed garden with external furniture and a built in space for disposable BBQs.

The village of St Ewe is situated approximately 5 miles south west of St Austell. There is a very good pub called the Crown Inn which serves food.
Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in South East Cornwall. Ideally located within easy reach of both The Lost Gardens of Heligan, which is one mile away and the Eden Project. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Once a major Pilchard port, now the harbour boasts a smaller fleet, many of which provide sea tours, or boat trips to Fowey situated further up the South coast. The Harbour provides an ideal back drop for a fish and chip supper, followed by a stroll through the town at dusk.
Just a few minutes down the road are The Lost Gardens of Heligan and 30 minutes to the Eden Project, Mevagissey provides a excellent location for the keen gardener. Gorran Haven nearby offers an alternative day out as well as Pentewan with its fresh water dock basin. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay.

Ermintrude Cottage is ideally located for a relaxing holiday retreat, yet within 30 minutes drive or less of many wonderful, secluded beaches and family attractions. The Cottage is fully equipped with all mod cons to leave you wanting for nothing and the provision of a 'welcome basket' with local produce adds that little extra homely touch to your visit. With the driveway gates closed, the garden becomes a secure area to allow your dog to roam free without fear of it wandering off down the lanes. Although I do recommend venturing down the lane to the next village of Polmassick for the Vineyard which has free wine tasting and cream teas. The Roseland Peninsula has some lovely coastal walks and the owners have put together a very useful dossier with maps highlighting some of the very best. Gorran Haven to Dodman Point was my favourite, which included a toe paddle in the cool waters on the secluded Vault Beach - simply idyllic. If you prefer to venture further afield I would recommend a trip to Falmouth via the passenger ferry from St Mawes. A great way to spend the day exploring without the hassle of driving everywhere. Would I return - an easy 'Yes'. Would I recommend Ermintrude Cottage - 'Absolutely'.

A great dog friendly cottage, perfect location , had everything you could ask for in the cottage very well equipped, owners had put together a great folder full of information for beaches, walks, shops etc! The welcome gift was an extra special surprise which included homemade bread and brownies which went down a treat !
Guest from Gloucestershire stayed for 14 nights.
Ermintrude Cottage is undoubtedly the best dog friendly accommodation we have stayed in. High quality and well equipped property offering home from home comforts (including a lovely welcome basket of food goodies on arrival); the perfect place to unwind as well as being a great base to explore Cornwall's beautiful southern coastline. We loved our stay so much we really didn't want to leave!
Guest from Wimborne stayed for 7 nights.
What a lovely place to stay . A modern conversion in very clean cut décor, We loved it. An excellent central place to stay to tour Cornwall. The welcome pack included lots of goodies and brownies out of this world! The owners greet you and then you are left totally alone to enjoy your holiday but are there if you need advice or help. Very comfortable beds and a nice little loft space for the smaller people who will feel they are on and adventure going up the stairs!! When you approach the property it is best to reverse in to the drive which is quite narrow but we managed in a Corsa. Otherwise you are reversing out of the drive onto a bend in the road. We would return as it was a great break and if you have dogs the garden seems to be very secure once the gates are closed.

The cottage is all you could ask for and the owners were helpful and considerate. We hope to return again next year.

This cottage is lovely, comfortable and well equipped. It is in a peaceful village not far from the coast and many other attractions in this part of Cornwall. It was ideal with the dog to have an enclosed garden. Definitely recommend this cottage and hope we can get back there soon for another visit
Guest from Banstead stayed for 7 nights.
A beautiful and relaxing 'bolt hole' away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Well equipped for an enjoyable holiday. Having an enclosed garden, Ermentrude was very suitable for our India, our Tibetan Terrier
Guest from Puriton stayed for 7 nights.
We thouroughly enjoyed our week in Ermintrude Cottage & having lovely weather was a bonus! It's so homely with everything you can possibly need for your stay, & has been furnished beautifully. The now 'legendary' homemade brownies & bread provided (along with other goodies) in a welcome basket is very thoughtful & welcoming. Excellent area to explore many places from, & a lovely pub just down the road. Perfect in every way & hopefully we will be returning in the future.

We loved the house which was clean, modern and very comfortable. It is in a great location and is close to beaches with lots of places to visit. We love Cornwall and have been visiting different areas for the past 3 years but so far this has been our favourite rental of all. Kitchen has all the equipment you need should you decide to stay in, the lounge area is wonderful to sit and relax, bedrooms are lovely with really comfy beds. When we arrived there was a wonderful box of homemade goodies waiting for us which was such a lovely thought and all gone by the end of the evening! This was our first holiday with our puppy and she loved it. Cornwall is dog heaven so we all really enjoyed being able to go to the beach, shop, eat - do most things with her and the kids. Would definitely recommend Ermintrude Cottage to all and look forward to returning soon. Thank you Mel and Jeremy for making our holiday so special.

Ermintrude cottage is a fantastic cottage. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and the owners have put a great deal of thought into everything including the welcome basket they left. It's a good base for exploring Cornwall. Highly recommended.
Guest from Pulborough stayed for 7 nights.
The cottage itself is very tastefully decorated. A lovely well equipped kitchen, with a pub within walking distance, if you don't want to use it! It is in a very quiet position. Only two of us stayed at the cottage so I can't say what it would be like with children. It is situated perfectly for the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. Lots of interesting places within driving distance, like St Mawes and Falmouth via the Harry Ferry. If the weather is good, the cottage has an enclosed garden perfect for children and for having dinner alfresco.
Guest from Knaphill stayed for 7 nights.
The cottage is lovely- warm, light and we'll appointed. The owners have thought of nearly everything and we had a lovely welcome. The cottage is in a fantastic location with lots to do nearby. The only drawback was we have a baby and the cottage is so light that getting them to sleep was difficult.
Guest from Whitford stayed for 7 nights.
Ermintrude is a cosy, clean, modern and well-equipped cottage, with a secure garden for our dog. The conversion from a barn is of a very high standard and, being less than two years old, the decor still has a very fresh feel to it. On arrival, we were given generous supplies of essential foods, including home-made bread and delicious brownies. The owner, Jeremy, lives in the adjacent house but, after his warm welcome he allowed us to enjoy our holiday on our own, without intrusion. St Ewe is a quiet village, but has a pub, places to walk the dog and is well-located for public gardens, beaches and some excellent places to eat. Despite mediocre weather for May, we really enjoyed our stay at Ermintrude and would heartily recommend it. Barbara and Alan East Devon

Have just spent a very enjoyable week at Ermintrude. . We, ( two adults and the dog ) , felt very comfortable in this clean, modern and very well equipped cottage. Lovely enclosed garden Excellent location in a quiet, pretty village but with easy access to many places of interest. Lost garden of Heligan about 2 miles away, as is the wonderful Lobbs farm shop. We highly recommend this accommodation and would return, without hesitation, when next visiting Cornwall.
Guest from Dunmow stayed for 7 nights.
From the first minute we knew we had found a real gem. The owner left homemade bread and brownies among other things) as a welcome pack - divine! Excellent location, bedding gorgeously comfy. We will be back!!
Guest from Wakefield stayed for 5 nights.
Our first impression on arrival was WOW, absolutely stunning, the cottage is in a really lovely location and ideal for exploring South East Cornwall and beyond. We had a really lovely 5 nights and so wished we had booked for longer. We took our dog Charlie with us and the cottage was excellent for him too, the enclosed garden was excellent for dogs, we found a beautiful beach close by where Charlie had his first beach experience, all in all a wonderful break in wonderful surroundings, the only down side it wasn't long enough. We would, without any hesitation recommend this cottage.
Guest from Angmering stayed for 3 nights.
We fell in love with this cottage as soon as we stepped in through the door! It has been beautifully restored and the furnishings are all of a very high quality. There was nothing more we could have asked for, it was very well equipped throughout. Location was excellent being less than two miles to The Lost Gardens Of Heligan and about six miles away from The Eden Project. The owners were close by to make sure everything was fine for us throughout the stay and they left a lovely welcome basket with bread, eggs, delicious homemade brownies and milk...a really love touch! Really hope to be able to visit again soon.
Guest from Harrogate stayed for 7 nights.
We arrived to a warm, festively decorated cottage and a basket of delicious fresh bread and brownies and other goodies which were a lovely welcome. The cottage was immaculately clean and tidy with thoughtful touches that made it extra special and homely. Good quality crisp white linen, superb comfy bed, fluffy white towels and a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Nice to have a personal welcome from the owner Jeremy who lives next door. Great to have a local pub nearby that serves good pub grub and the locals banter at the bar entertained us no end! Good location for exploring this area of Cornwall and everyone we met were so friendly! Would highly recommend.

Ermintrude Cottage is one of the best we have stayed in and has been extremely well decorated, furnished and equipped. It was lovely to receive a Welcome Basket and totally unexpected. The owners are very helpful and welcoming and the cottage is central for many locations. We would definitely return and recommend to others. An added bonus is that dogs are also made welcome and in the local pub ( only 250yds away ) where good food is served.

We stayed at this beautiful cottage in the beginning of September. The cottage was very comfortable and suited to our every need. The owners very kindly left a welcome pack with some lovely goodies in it and provided a cot and high chair for our 15month old son to use. We were very lucky with the weather during our stay so managed to do lots of exploring and found that the cottage's location was ideal for us to do this. We would highly recommend a stay at Ermingtrude cottage!
Guest from Rayleigh stayed for 7 nights.
A truly wonderful cottage in an excellent location, very peaceful and close to Lost Gardens of Heligan. Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, with a huge bed, lovely crisp white bed linen and soft fluffy towels. Beautifully decorated, everything provided and all to a very high standard. A lovely welcome pack awaited us and the owner welcomed us on arrival, did not intrude during our stay, but was available if needed. A neat, enclosed garden was excellent for the dogs. Highly recommended, definitely the best cottage we have stayed in.

A gorgeous cottage with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. The fresh produce left for us upon arrival was a lovely touch. The cottage was immaculate with plenty of space for a family of four and a dog. The enclosed garden was an excellent place to relax in at the end of the day. The cottage is in a great location, situated in a quiet village but within easy reach of some great attractions and beautiful beaches. I would thoroughly recommend Ermintrude cottage.

Ermintrude cottage was a beautiful cottage to stay in, well thought out and in a good location. The owners were very nice and helpful and the welcome basket of local produce was a lovely touch (the homemade bread and brownies were especially good!). We would recommend it as a place to stay to other people.

Absolutely loved our stay at the beautifully furnished and homely Ermintrude Cottage. The owners had thought of everything including a fantastic welcome basket of home-made bread & chocolate brownies and local milk, eggs, butter & cheese. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival. The house overlooked the fully enclosed garden from every room making it perfect for families with dogs & children. The owners live in the adjacent, but not adjoining, property which is ideal in case of any problems and for local knowledge but yet didn't intrude in anyway on our day to day privacy. St Ewe is a pretty little village with the local pub serving decent pub food less than a 5 minute walk away. We would recommend this cottage without hesitation and would love to return.
Guest from Gillingham stayed for 7 nights.
A great place to stay for the family, lots to do nearby. Cottage had everything we needed and more. Owners were very helpful and were presented with lovely chocolate brownies, wine, bread. Would love to go back at some point in the future.

The cottage was so pristine and well presented that we felt as though we were the first people to stay there. The basket of goodies was a nice touch. The info folder was invaluable and we found the answer to any query we had in there. The cottage is in the perfect spot, centrally located to explore Cornwall. Excellent for dog owners.
Guest from Aughton stayed for 4 nights.
We had a very relaxing time in Ermintrude cottage, it was very clean and well equipped and suited us perfectly. The location is excellent with plenty of lovely beaches, walks and gardens nearby. The owners Jeremy and Mel provided a lovely welcome pack of local produce and home made cakes. They also gave us some great tips on places to eat and visit which we found very useful and made our stay even more enjoyable. The walks Jeremy has suggested in the information book are worth exploring, we tried two and they were both stunning with superb coastal views. We'd have no hesitation in recommended the cottage to friends and relatives and we hope we will also be able to visit again soon.

Ermitrude is a beautifull barn conversion with everything you could possibly need, and more, the owners were really welcoming and helpful, even down to providing us with a binder with all of there local knowledge on the area, to ensure we got the best from our stay. The location is ideal as its so peaceful when you want to relax but not far from local amenities. The property was immaculate, and so cosy, with lovely extras such as a basket of Cornish bread, milk, eggs and cheese on arrival, a basket of dvds and a selection of maps for local / coastal walks. It is defiantly the nicest holiday home we have ever stayed in, we would love to return.
Guest from Cardiff stayed for 7 nights.
This cottage is without a doubt the perfect place to stay in Cornwall. Regular visitors of the area as it is a really relaxing, beautiful place. Simply idyllic. The thoughtful touches the owners put in place such as a lovely welcome pack of fresh bread, butter, cheese and mouth-watering chocolate cake made us feel so welcome after a long journey and the luxurious soaps in the bathrooms (which I need to find out the name of so I can get some). You instantly relax as it is so homely. It was easy to shake of the pressures of city life and kick back and enjoy the rest. There is a local farm shop attached to the Lost Gardens of Helligan which has lovely food if you want to cook and stay in. There are lovely places to eat locally too, pub up the road was really welcoming. We took the dog who enjoyed a day out with local dog walker/trainer 4petspawcare so even he had a day of fun out making new friends to play on the beach with. It really was a wonderful week away. Thanks so much Jeremy and Mel for your hospitality. We will definitely be booking again.

A lovely cottage in a great location. The Roseland Peninsula is beautiful and less commercialised than other parts of Cornwall. Mevagisssey is really close and is great for a day out as is Heligan which is about 5 mins away. The cottage is very well equipped and is very comfortable, really good for a relaxing week.

Ermintrude cottage has just become available and we were the first ones to stay at this beautiful conversion. The cottage is a brand new barn conversion and it is immaculate and fully furnished with all the household items needed for a great stay, including an enclosed and very private garden for us and our little old dog. In addition to all the carefully thought out features and comforts there is a small mezzanine bedroom where our 3 and 5 year old grandsons stayed for one night - and they loved it! It is just the right size for two boys. The cottage is also close to the local pub, 4 miles from the beach and a half mile from the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.
