Dutch Barn has been newly converted to a luxury dog friendly holiday cottage that sleeps up to 8 adults plus cots.

The conversion produces a piece of modern architecture that embraces materials such as a zinc roof, western red cedar cladding and glulam beams. The overall design harks back to the industrial feel of the original barn. Sustainability is at the heart of the design and all the heating, hot water and electrical facilities are powered by solar power or though a biomass boiler that uses a renewable source of wood pellets.

Forming part of Pencuke Farm, Dutch Barn is one of 6 holiday cottages where you can benefit from the superb facilities available on the site. As with all the cottages and barn conversions, guests have use of a large lawned recreation area, communal BBQ terrace that enjoys stunning views, the games room with pool table and table football and access to the 18 acres of farm land. Subject to availability, fresh farm produce can be purchased on site.

Pencuke Farm is only a few miles inland from the spectacular north Cornwall coast around Crackington Haven. With this dramatic coastline and stunning countryside all round to explore, this really is a fantastic place to stay. The farm offers guests the opportunity to relax against a stunning backdrop, whilst being located close to beaches and all the outdoor activities you would expect to enjoy from a holiday in Cornwall.

Accommodation
First Floor only: The barn's living accommodation is arranged on the first floor and can sleep up to 8 adults in four bedrooms. The usual layout is two double rooms (5' beds) and two twin rooms (3' beds). However each set of twin beds can be joined together on request to make a 6' bed. All bedrooms have their own en-suite bathroom. Three of the bathrooms have a bath with overhead power shower. The fourth bathroom has a bath and a separate spacious walk in shower. The barn benefits from an open plan L-shaped living area with a wonderful vaulted ceiling and exposed glulam beams. The main room comprises of a large table that can comfortably seat 10 people, a large sofa, a wood burning stove and two sets of fully opening bi-fold doors. A large opening leads from the living area into the kitchen, which is spacious and has lovely views across the valley. There is a breakfast bar with a couple of stools.
Exterior: Accessed from the bi-fold doors or one of the bedrooms, is a 40 foot long enclosed terrace. The terrace has a barbecue (subject to the time of year), large dining table, views across the farm to the Atlantic ocean and a jacuzzi hot tub.

Facilities & Services
All rooms have under floor heating. The kitchen is well equipped with a large range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, American style fridge freezer and ice maker. The sitting room area has a 48" Smart TV, Bluray DVD player, XBOX 360, B&W Speaker and Ipod Dock. There is a DVD library for you to choose from. All bedrooms have a dedicated smart TV with free view. There is WiFi available at the property. There is an iron and ironing board. There is a separate cupboard off the lounge where you will find a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels, One basket of logs will be provided on arrival; additional logs can be purchased on site.
Up to 4 well behaved dogs are permitted at the property at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week although please remember that you cannot leave dogs unattended in the cottage alone. You are welcome to exercise the dogs under supervision around the Owners' land. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. There is plenty of space for cars to park. Cot and high chair are available but must be pre-booked.

General Booking Information
Arrival / Departure is normally a Friday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
£250 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
A large discount is available for just 4 people using the Barn, when it is just converted to a 2 bedroom property.

The farm is located 1.6 miles from Crackington Haven, which is included in the best surfing beaches in England and was recommended by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide. The scenery in the beach area of the surrounding majestic cliffs is almost unrivalled. At high tide, the beach is a mass of quartz-veined pebbles and large boulders but at low tide, it reveals an expanse of sand and many rock pools. Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and fantastic terrace. The farm is located in the parish of St. Gennys, which prides itself on the excellence of its public paths with the National Trust owning most of the cliff and adjacent farmland.

As you travel down the coastline, you can visit quaint coastal villages such as Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac, the latter offering a range of fantastic restaurants where you can enjoy the freshest and most delicious fish.

Fifteen minutes up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. The watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards allows for some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities. Bude today is a lovely sea-side town, the main shopping streets and inter-connecting alleyways play host to a wide range of locally owned shops, restaurants and pubs. There are boutiques, shoes, arts & crafts, jewellery, hand-made gifts and souvenirs.

Six miles inland is Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cornwall at its wildest and rich in ancient history, Bodmin Moor stretches for 30 miles through the heart of the County of Cornwall and offers spectacular walking and horse riding. With easy access to the both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer.

The best holiday rental yet!!

From the scenic arrival and gorgeous buildings to the freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream provided, we knew we picked a winner. Dutch barn is a luxury holiday and you get what you pay for. We wanted for nothing, the contents have been thoroughly thought out, everything you need is there even down to birthday cake candles. Every piece of furniture and decor is beautiful and comfy ( except the dining room chairs were not as comfy, but that was just the tiniest of niggles ) the beds are so comfortable and the sheets are super soft and so luxurious. My son in law left his wedding ring in the bathroom when we left, we called them up and within 30 mins we had a call to say it was in the post special delivery and don't worry about the cost!! We all had a perfect Cornish dream holiday and cannot wait to return.

Birthday Weekend with Friends

Absolutely amazing place to stay, Ross and Becky welcomed us well and left us to it. The whole barn is decorated and furnished to a high modern standard which makes it feel special! Hot tub was lovely! Lovely touch to arrive to a basket of scones, clotted cream, jam, milk and tea! Overall weather was lovely so we were lucky! I would highly recommend this location to stay with family and friends, it is a bit far from main attractions but if you have a car then the world is your oyster! I would love to come back and will recommend to all my friends and family, Thank you for a lovely stay!

The Dutch barn is awesome. Great location for exploring too

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Dutch Barn (5 adults and two children, 2 years and 6 month old) The owners are very friendly and made us feel welcome from the outset. The Barn is very well thought out and finished to a very high standard, whilst also being located in a good spot for exploring Cornwall. We will definitely be returning!

Fantastic

We had a great stay here, there were 7 adults and two babies and there was plenty room for everyone. Very relaxed busines and nice owners. Everything we needed was available and we were all very excited at being welcomed by fresh scones, jam and clotted cream. Close enough to drive to the nearby towns for the beach in Bude, 15minutes and 10minutes the other way there is a lovely little town called Boscastle where we had a lovely meal

High Quality and Great Location

We were greeted on arrival by the barn owner Becky. She gave us a brief run down of what was what and where things were. We were certainly not disappointed with the Barn.It has been furnished to a very high quality with everything you could need. The hot tub was a lovely treat at the end of the day exploring the surrounding area. The kids enjoyed the X box and the WiFi which had good service and the pool table and football table in the communal barn. I would definitely recommend this place to families and couples . We would definitely return

Has definitely got the wow factor!

We throughly enjoyed our stay in The Dutch Barn. It really is an amazing property. We wanted for nothing and I have to say the bed was the comfiest bed we have ever slept in in a holiday rental. It's a perfect location for exploring the north Cornwall coast - somewhere we have never really explored in our 15 Or so years of visiting Cornwall. My only criticism is that there is a shortage of nice restaurants in the area but we tended to travel further afield during the day for a nice lunch and used the amazing Boscastle Farm Shop 10 minutes or so from the Property to get supplies which we cooked in the amazing kitchen. It really was the most relaxing and comfortable break we have had. Thanks to Ross and Becky who are there if you need them but by no means in your face. Don't like to return to the same property but would seriously consider returning here! X

Fabulous barn

This is a beautifully finished and equipped barn that ensured a very relaxing holiday in North Cornwall. The barn is located on a working farm and the owners could not do enough to help to make sure we had a great stay. The fixtures and fittings are all superb, and the outdoor area including hot tub and BBQ ensured we could enjoy the sunshine in the evenings We will definitely be back!!

Great stay

I spent many hours researching holiday properties in Cornwall suitable for our multi-generational group, including a toddler. The Dutch Barn at Pencuke Farm came out top and I am so glad it did ! It is a stunning property, with all the rooms on one floor and the outside decked area, with hot tub, at the same level - great for my 18 month old granddaughter. This property definitely has the wow factor and the owners, Becky and Ross, are around should you need them and obviously care very much about giving you a great holiday experience. We were really blessed with the weather so had the opportunity to see the stunning north Cornish coastline at its best. We all had a wonderful holiday.

Birthday Holiday

This proeprty is spectacular. We had quite a long and stressful journey to Pencuke and upom opening the front door to Dutch Barn our breath was literally taken away. So modern and tastefully decorated it genuinely felt like luxury. All the amenities are fantastic and in great working order and the Barn itself was spotlessly clean. The outside area is fantastic with use of the hottub and a lovely seating area (obviously for the warmer weather). This was a special treat for my birthday and staying at Dutch Barn in such a beautiful location at Pencuke really made it one that I will never forget.
