Wander across the field from the beautiful upper reaches of the River Fal through the delightful landscape of this part of the Roseland Peninsula and you will find a wonderful retreat at Ardevora Mill. Located just outside the historic village of Philleigh, down a long farm track, this is the perfect place for those looking for peace & tranquility! Despite its rural location, Ardevora Mill is only a 10 minute drive to the nearest beaches at Pendower and Porthcurnick. Both of the villages of St Mawes & Portscatho with their shops, restaurants and art galleries are also within easy reach.
Crowjy Ardevora is one of three self catering cottages at Ardevora Mill. This single-storey barn has been carefully converted, retaining many original features. With high ceilings, original beams and very comfortable furnishings the owners have created a superb hideaway. Crowjy adjoins the next property, Ardevora an Gylen, which can be combined (by way of an internal interconnection door) to provide accommodation for up to 9 people. For larger parties Ardevora Vean (next door, Friday changeover) sleeps a further 2 persons. You will be warmly welcomed to Ardevora by the owners, Andrew & Teri, who really go out of their way to make you feel totally at home in this very special place.
Ground Floor: The cottage is on the ground floor, however there are a couple of steps within the property. Via the spacious hallway, enter the lovely open plan lounge, take 2 steps up to the dining & well equipped kitchen. A door from the dining area leads to the large patio & garden that has superb countryside views. The comfortable double bedroom has a king size bed and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. There is a further triple family bedroom with 3 single beds and again plenty of space. The 'wet style' shower room also has a WC and wash hand basin, with non slip tiled flooring.
Exterior: To the rear the enclosed large patio & grassed garden (shared with Ardevora an Gylen) has ample patio furniture and wonderful countryside views. Alongside the cottages there is a separate, shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. BBQ are also available.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via oil fire under floor heating & electricity. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge & freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, electric oven & ceramic hob. The lounge area has a TV with Freeview & DVD player. WiFi is available at the property. There is an iron and ironing board.
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included, but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is parking available for a number of cars on the private driveway. Although the owners have their own dog, we regret that guest's dogs are not permitted. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. For those younger guests a cot & high chair is available on request. For a nominal fee you can hire the owner's kayaks to explore the river at your leisure.

Barn style, one of three in the complex. This is certainly the place to base yourself for a peaceful week of fresh air and tranquillity. We thought a hot tub or swimming pool would be great asset as this is a bit off the beaten track. Lovely hosts
Thanks for your nice comments

dispite the weather we had a lovely stay. Terry and family are really welcoming and Tizzy the dog was great with our 2 year old.
Yes, shame about the weather but we are pleased this didn't stop you enjoying your time here at Ardevora.

A really comfortable cottage, very clean and well kept. In a quiet location and well suited to a relaxing holiday break. Located at the end of a long stone track which was very rough and potholed.
We are pleased you found Crowjy Ardevora comfortable and liked the stunning location we live in. We realise the track is quite rough in places at the moment and have work planned to improve it over the next couple of weeks.
Guest from Rugby stayed for 7 nights.
Crowjy is one of three cottages and was ideal for our family of five (13,10 and 7) with 3 single beds in the 2nd bedroom. The cottage was spotlessly clean with a large well equipped kitchen, some basic provisions and a welcoming cream tea! The owners live on site and were welcoming and approachable. Our children loved their dog and playing with children from the adjoining cottage in a large shared garden/patio area. Laundry room was also handy. The location is isolated (not walkable to pub/shops) which was a plus for us with peaceful setting, great views and nearby creek.
What a lovely review - thanks. It was great to have you stay and hope to see you again. Also thanks for sending the great photo of Tizzy.

Guest from Walsall stayed for 7 nights.
We really enjoyed our stay at Crowjy Ardevora. It was just what we needed - a peaceful bit of heaven. As city dwellers and busy professionals it's such a delight to wake up and all you can hear is the birds. No traffic or other noise. Pure bliss! Teri is a lovely host and we had everything we needed. The cottage is well equipped and has a large garden which would be ideal for a family with smaller children as it's fenced in and secure. Safe to say we will definitely return!
Thanks for your lovely comments. We will look forward to seeing you again.
Guest from Ilkley stayed for 7 nights.
Whilst Crowjy Ardevor is off the beaten track it is a perfect location for a peaceful relaxing holiday in a beautiful tranquil setting. St Mawes and beautiful beaches of Roseland are all easily accessible. The cottage was extremely well equipped, lovely and warm, and the owners could not have been more helpful. We will certainly return - a little haven!!
Guest from Surrey stayed for 3 nights.
A fantastic property in an idilic location. Warm and cosy and perfect for a family stay. The only only feedback I would give, is that this is perfect for a family stay but the bathroom could do with a bath - especially if guests have small children who use a bath rather than a shower. Thank you. P.
Thanks for this great review. Unfortunately space does not permit - so a shower it is!! However we have now got a plastic baby bath for our very young guests.
