Crocus Lodge is a delightful, luxury open plan wooden lodge with all modern amenities situated in a tranquil wooded valley. The lodge offers spacious open plan living in a warm and beautifully furnished environment.

The lodge is a short walk from the village of Lanlivery which boasts one of the oldest pubs in the county, the Crown Inn. This was originally built in the 12th century to serve the weary Irish pilgrims who were walking the Saints Way, a route from Padstow to Fowey where Irish drovers would disembark their cattle to fatten them up walking over the green grasses of Cornwall before re-boarding their vessels in Fowey and proceeding onto France. Just over the hill from Eden Valley lies the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall’s hidden treasure, nestling in the Fowey River valley and overlooked by the 12th century Restormel Castle. This ancient town with its quaint old buildings is full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, centering around St Bartholomew church which dates back to before 1170. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside with the Fowey River meandering through the centre of the town. Nearby on the south coast are Fowey, Charlestown, Looe and Polperro all within a short drive offering excellent restaurants, shops and galleries with exhibitions by local artists.

Accommodation
Ground floor only: A sun deck with table and chairs surrounds one end of the property and the front door leads into the open plan and spacious kitchen, lounge and diner. There is also another pair of doors which lead out onto the sundeck, a further door leads into the hallway with access to the master bedroom with 5' bed, en suite shower room and plenty of storage. Also accessed from the hallway is a second twin bedroom and a family bathroom with shower over.

Facilities and Services
Heating is via central heating throughout. The kitchen includes a fridge freezer, washing machine and gas oven and hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. Free WiFi is available at the property. The lounge area has an LCD TV with freeview, DVD player and electric coal effect fire. There is an iron, ironing board, cot and high chair. Use of children's outdoor adventure playground and indoor games room including pool table, bar football table etc.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating and bed linen are all included but you will need to provide your own towels. There is unlimited parking on site.

For those wishing to visit the delights of places such as The Eden Project, Charlestown and Fowey, this is the area for you, located on the Eastern side of St Austell. With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan towards Mevagissey, and Lanhydrock National Trust House & Gardens a short drive inland it provides an ideal base for your travels. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple drive to the coast past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey.

Just over the hill from Eden Valley lies the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall's hidden treasure, nestling in the Fowey River valley and overlooked by the 12th century Restormel Castle. This ancient town with its quaint old buildings is full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, centering around St Bartholomew church which dates back to before 1170. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside with the Fowey Rover meandering through the centre of the town.

St Austell was once the major producer of the world's China Clay; now with cheaper foreign imports, the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The Eden Project hosts many bands throughout the season as well as featuring an Ice Rink out of season.

Bodmin was the former county town of Cornwall for many years and the only Cornish town to be recorded in the Domesday Book, which was lodged in the town's prison during the First World War. The county prison is now a museum and open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells. The oldest part of the town is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994. At Tregullon you are just 10 miles away from The Eden Project and 2 miles away from the National Trust's amazing Lanhydrock House. Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30, is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty, reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.

Crocus Lodge

Set in a peaceful location outside Lostwithiel on a well maintained holiday park.Ideal for the coast, plenty of hidden gems to be found but you do need a car. Lodge was very comfortable and cosy.Everything catered for and we had a lovely stay.Only downside reception on Wi fi and TV was terrible when it rained.Lovely sitting on the veranda in the sun.

Good but no wifi - not good with teenage kids

Lovely home - it's not actually a log cabin but a mobile home with wood cladding. Very clean, well maintained and spacious. Unfortunately, the wifi wasn't working and the teenagers in the family weren't impressed so we sent them home early which meant that the adults could enjoy the holiday in peace!

Crocus lodge

It was our first stay in a lodge, and we loved it, the owners are lovely and very helpful, the lodge was clean and comfy, the beds were lovely and comfy, the on suit shower was a good size, the bathroom was lovely, just can't fault it, we would definitely book again, the only thing that would stop us, is if we get another dog! we lost our old girl two years ago and are still missing her so much, and just may get another one?, so as Crocus lodge doesn't take dogs, we may not be able to return!

Excellent place - will definitely stay again!

We had been looking for a place to stay for a while without much luck as we have a toddler and therefore had certain requirements i.e. we needed somewhere with heating as we were staying at the end of October, and that was child-friendly. We came across Crocus Lodge which looked perfect and it was. The place was in excellent condition, the owners having furnished it to a high standard and, had everything you would need while away and they were even able to provide a travel cot and highchair which meant two less things to have to worry about packing. The location was perfect, nice and quiet yet close enough to the main road to be able to go and visit places. We had a great week and will definitely go back.

Cornwall Summer Break

The direction instructions we received to find Crocus Lodge at Lanlivery were excellent, we enjoyed our stay at Eden Valley Holiday Park it was a beautiful landscaped site in a very peaceful setting of Cornwall that we had not visited before. Easy access to the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. The lodge was super and very comfortable, fully equipped with all the facilities we required, was a bonus to have the washing machine!!! The only thing I would suggest, it would have be helpful to have had a mirror on the wall in the twin bedroom, also it took us a while to sort out how the freesat TV worked, despite having the instructions, (probably us). We did leave some written instructions for future visitors. The owners were very helpful & friendly, particularly when I had some minor car issues during our stay & inadvertently left a couple of things behind on leaving - which were duly posted back to me. Thank you. I am sure we will be coming again for another holiday very soon, as we still have some things we would like to see & explore.

Just the place to chill

Nice lodge on a excellent quite holiday park, handy for the Eden Project and our favourite English coast line. Now the niggles first: An Oven glove, and a "sink tidy" to stack washed up crockery on would have been handy. The wife [66] is used to a medium soft mattress, and struggled getting a comfortable nights sleep. I [69] on the other hand prefer a medium to firm mattress and hence had no problems. Conclusion: These lodges come complete from the manufactures with all furnishings, and as such they are a really nice package. Great layout, lovely bedrooms, comfy spacious living area, and masses of storage through out the lodge. We only used the large enclosed shower in the en-suite, but it was perfect, good water pressure and plenty hot water. And remember our lodge was absolutely spotless.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting!

Crocus lodge is a lovely setting for families, far enough from any larger towns set in a peaceful setting but only minutes from Lostwithiel for amenities and more importantly lots of great family beaches within a short drive, Polkerris, Carlyon etc. Well equipped, lovely large open living space and outdoor veranda, bedrooms spacious. . Lovely to sit on the veranda in the evenings with a glass of wine and listen to the wildlife. I would definitely book again, to explore the south coast area.

quiet, relaxing, and comfortable

The lodge itself is spacious, clean and very well kept. The bed is comfy and the en suite shower is huge (and lights up when the water heats up which was pretty cool). The park is right in the middle of nowhere which makes it lovely and quiet but it is close enough to civilization so as to not be an inconvenience. I would recommend it to couples and families who want a quiet break.

Eden Valley holiday park

What a beautiful campsite with wonderful friendly service, nothing was to much trouble. We arrived to a kitchen with a pint of milk, tea, coffee & sugar sachets provided after a 4 hour drive very much appreciated even kitchen roll and salt and pepper. These small things make such a big difference. Will return and would grandly recommend to anyone. Thank you

A wonderful quiet retreat

Well appointed holiday accommodation in an attractive rural setting. Good access to both south and north Cornish Coasts. Good quiet location with the all important pub within walking distance. Can recommend it. The only trivial complaint was mattress on double bed was less supportive than we are used to. We would consider a repeat stay and also the camp site adjacent used by a family member was excellent.
